$1000 cash back less:
- $95 annual fee
- $50-100 opportunity cost for spending $5000 on a card that only gives 1%cb when you could have gotten 2-3%cb.
Still over $800 tax-free profit. Not bad at all.
Considering it. I have one more application before I hit chase 5/24, then wait for a boosted amex gold or platinum bonus.
Any 0% apr period on this?
Will they treat a tax payment at pay1040 as a cash advance? Most credit card vendors treat it as a purchase.

You are probably within the 48 month window.
Instead...do the CHASE UNITED BUSINESS 125k Offer ($150 annual fee). That's pretty good too.
Also, if I apply for CSP for a personal card to get the 100k SUB then would that impact any SUB for the Business Ink if the better offer returns in the next few months? I don't know if they base the BI off of the individual or the business.
Each product line is distinct from the others (as far as the qualifying time period..... Southwest is different from United, which is different from Sapphire, which is different from others). You would not be automatically declined for Sapphire because you have a Bonvoy.
I have had Southwest & United & Sapphire simultaneously in years past.
I don't know if it applies, but if you are outside of Chase's 5/24 rule, [thepointsguy.com] you would certainly be declined.
If you had the card bonus for sapphire in the last 48 months, you would be declined.
Those are the only two things I know.
I see no reason why you couldn't apply for United (unless you are outside the 5/24--see below) So I would want to know that first.
Call the reconsideration line and ask.
No clear rule, but my experience is you will see it at the next following statement period end date (for your referr-er account), or the one after that.
(Not sure if Chase waits for the card to be used or not).
Not too long, in my experience.

You would downgrade AFTER the AF posts (AF is refunded as long as you downgrade within 41 (officially 30) days of the AF posting. You can't downgrade prior to 1 full year due to how Chase reads the CARD act law.
And yes you can have multiples of the various freedom cards (regular, flex, and unlimited).
You can switch to a "regular" sapphire (no AF) but there's no reason to- it's a crap card compared to something like the freedom flex.
You can also switch back to one of the paid sapphire cards later if you suddenly need the ability to transfer points to travel partners back- you'll be charged a new AF, but can downgrade again for a refund as soon as the transfer is done.

Payment to IRS is 1.75%. $87.50 Points earned = 1% x (1.4 my conversion value for transferring to Hyatt or Southwest Airlines) = .014 X $5000 = $70.00. Thus, it cost me $17.50 and eliminates the hassle of making sure that I reach $5000 in three months.hase value.
Another way to look at it - I have a Fidelity CC that gives me 2x in cash rebate for purchases. So if I charge $5,000 on the Chase card instead of the Fidelity, it would have cost me $5000 x (.02 - .014) = $30, which is actually worse than using the IRS payment to satisfy the bonus requirement.
I called. They just asked for some additional information and got another l approved over the phone.
