I have about 10 dewalt batteries and 3 Waitley. I use the Waitley for items that don't require a tool to perform at near max capacity, so I usually use it on my DeWalt fan, BlueTooth speaker, etc.

That being said, this new Waitley Plus+ seems intriguing, $66 with 20% coupon, brings down around $53 for 2 and includes USB and USBC sockets so can be used as a power bank. Skil tools and others have done this and I've always thought it was a brilliant idea. I think I'm going to give these a try and that price.

Project Farm tested the knockoff batteries, and while yes, they do kinda work, many didn't have electronic protection circuits, didn't have the same power or longevity of real batteries.
So buyer beware when getting knockoffs.

Yes these are filled with the cheapest low capacity 18650s out of all the dewalt batteries. Same size as a 5.0 but it's 3.0. Not a great deal imo.

Psh I have original dewalt batteries from 2013 and 14 that charge up to full bars still. I highly doubt no name Chinese cells will do that.

I have batteries from 2019 that still work damn good as new, given I don't run them full blast back and forth like some do so... There's that. Genuinely curious how people expect to be at their batteries and use the quickest aka hottest chargers to juice up their batteries and expect maximum longevity .. anyways

I ordered the 20v Dewalt Battery for cordless tools, & never did receive notifications of delays or anything. They just took my money & I got nothing in return. I've ordered quite of bit from Home Depot in the past, but looks like this will be my last!
