A giant cost me ~$17 for 1500 calories or a regular for $8.75. Sometimes I pig out and eat a giant but a regular is good and with the coupon that works out to $6.75. Check the prices of fast food lately? That's a great deal in my books.

Prices vary by sandwich also, $10.95 for Super Sub vs $14.95 for California Club here in SoCal.
$0.49 on $1.25/hr. in 1965 for a subway footlong. Today, that would be $2.842 on $7.25/hr. The minimum wage is Los Angeles is around $16/hr., so 2x roughly. Subs should not be more than $5.00. Somehow, these subs shops have been able to be sneaky and up the price without people noticing. People are still buying at this higher price points.

By that logic, $49,000 house in 1965 Los Angeles should not cost more than $500,000 Rofl2

The market is not going to cater to one. One must use your best judgement when buying.
For instance, in 1938, a car cost $860 on $0.25/hr. I live in a federally minimum wage state $7.25/hr. So a car should cost me minimum $860 x 29 = $24940. I just bought a car recently, guess how much I paid for it? Under that! For a new car, because I negotiated it down.
Now for a house. $0.25/hr., a house was $3900. In a $7.25/hr. state, it should be around $113100. But are you going to find it where you are? Maybe or maybe not. So what do you do? You have to move somewhere where you COULD increase your chances of finding it. OR, use that figure as a minimum threshold. How much do YOU make hourly? If you make $30/hr. That is 4x that. So $113100 x 4 = $452400. Could you find that in Los Angeles? Think! Probably not. Best to move to somewhere in the Midwest, Southeast or Northeast (which is really expensive). Ultimately, one is responsible for being financially accountable, one is not going to get it at that price at face value. Takes work!

My giant sandwich tasted gross last night. I wanted to vomit during my meal, but had to finish and half throw it out. Thinking about it right now makes me not eat there for a while. Idk it's because I gave him a $1 tip for my pickup, but never do pickup. It always taste so gross to me vs when I'm looking at them making it. Even with coupon it was around $20 ...excuse me while I go vomit now thinking about last night's dinner lol
