I just paid $15.48 for a Persil Original Scent HE Liquid Laundry Detergent 96 Loads - 150 fl. oz., from Target. Starting at $18.99 unit price, the invoice price includes free shipping (which they value at $3), 20% off on homecare items (= $3.80) for Target Circle members (free membership), and $0.76 off (5% off for using the Target Circle card). This also includes $0.95 NJ sales tax.

I don't know if this is a better, same, or worse than usual deal, but I bought at the moment I needed it, and the price seemed right (and you don't have to deal with canceling S&S).

Yea, it's somewhat a slick deal. The price above is $1 less than Kroger ($13.99) for nearly the same size (84 oz at Kroger). But if you've ever bought it there previously, Kroger often sends coupons the following month.

This deal would slightly edge out what you purchased costing just under $0.15/load on Amazon (w/ 15% S&S) vs $0.16 with tax and all that jazz. This also has Oxi, which makes it superior to the regular version for a better clean. It's a slick deal.

In an apples-for-apples comparison, you would have to price both deals out the same way -- that is, with or without sales tax.

Without sales tax, the posted deal comes to 0.153 per load, and my purchase comes to 0.150 per load.

With NJ sales tax (6.625%) figured in, the posted deal comes to 0.163 per load, and my purchase comes to 0.160 per load.

I concede the point about the oxi. We are splitting hairs.

Like i said, the comparisons include tax. Mine is being sent to Jersey and I paid $11.96..and I'm also getting 5% back in Amazon credits. It sounds like you were just looking for justification on buying it when you needed it, but weren't sure what was a better deal. This was the answer, but whatever helps you sleep (cleanly) at night..

Definitely pay attention to the amount you put into the cup when measuring out for a wash. I generally only use about two and a half tablespoons full of the regular Persil when doing my laundry. I would only use about 2 tablespoons or less with this stuff

This brand has been creeping up in price. It used to be cheap when they weren't advertising heavily

Now the advertising is baked into the price

Like any other successful market penetration of a product..get the word out, make it cheap enough to lure and intrigue users away from your competition, get em hooked, gradually raise the price, profit.

Persil was huge in Europe long before being known here. They did a great job at breaking into an already competitive market and rising towards the top.

Not the same. Ounces are but Target's deal is not concentrated and is only 50 loads. I started using pods because there is no measuring and I was using less. I may though get this is it seems to be a good deal per load.

Agreed, this is 2X concentration which is NOT the same as what is sold at Target. I usually can only find the 2X concentration at Amazon. This is actually a pretty hot deal. My purchase point is usually around $18... maybe as low as $15 during prime days.

The company that makes Persil is withdrawing from the U.S. market so it will slowly disappear as stock runs out
