Why do you say it's junk?, this ratchet finished third overall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thLm3y3HjYI gear wrench might be a better deal on sale but this doesn't seem bad!

If you used a 3/8" ratchet on the caliper bracket bolts, that's 100% on you.

I bought one last time from woot and the ratchet broke within two weeks and I think I used it 3 times. Broke on suburban brake job.

I spent $65.99 on the 43 piece set in 2023 (currently $70.54). You can see where the Tekton sockets and ratchet are a bit better, but not for the price. It's really handy to spin a loose 21mm fastener with a 3/8" ratchet. And I use the L-handle all the time, especially in the "long" direction like a nut driver.

I'm not sure how this 90 tooth ratchet is but I have the 100 tooth ratchets and they are fantastic. I got them because they tested well on project farm.

I recently bought a set of Neiko 100 tooth ratchets and I think they're great. Feel great, and the backlash / back-drag is very light and perfect with each 'tick' precise. I'm a light user, so I can't vouch for strength, but I've liked everything I've bought that was Neiko brand so far.

I also bought a set of Craftsman 180 tooth ratchets thinking they might feel even better, but the Craftsman brand feel much, much worse. High backlash and the 'clicks' aren't precise. ... if that makes sense. It's not even close.

Idk, a good ratchet should be overengineered. Trying to think what bolts short of the hub/axle bolt you'd naturally pull out a 1/2" for… 🤔

If it doesn't move, grab an extension handle/pullbar. Maybe I don't pull down hard enough to break the ratchet. 🤷

I've got a 3/8" rachet already and recently need some deep socket for PCV swap (22mm) my current sockets top out at 15/16 and 20mm
Are there any good 3/8" drive large/deep socket sets for a decent price?

I naturally pull out a 1/2" for the caliper bracket bolts. They tend to be 17mm, 18mm, 19mm. Yeah, a 12" handle gets your knuckles close to the driveway or fender liner, but they're usually stuck pretty good between the torque spec and whatever dirt and corrosion is on top of that. I'm thinking whatever full size truck is probably tightened close to 150 ft-lbs, clean and dry. Are you thinking of the caliper bolts that thread into the slide pins?
ASME spec for 3/8" is 150 ft-lbs. If the drive anvil breaks first, it's easiest to fix. It would surprise me if this doesn't fit:
https://www.tekton.com/3-8-inch-d...t-srh9x013
Tekton claims their proof torque is 240 ft-lbs:
https://www.tekton.com/3-8-inch-d...t-srh01108
I'd still use a 1/2" tool.
