You dont have to do this necessarily as the verification code they send when you are purchasing the phone doesnt have to be the phone number you are porting. You can get the verification code on any number then when you port a number over you can use the number barn number for $5

Yes, but nobody sold you something for $125-200 under retailer wholesale cost.
You get what you pay for.
You can buy this phone for more without the requirements.
If they did not require this some folks would buy dozens to resell (which I have no exact issue with other than it make such a deal impossible to offer)
Decide for yourself.
It's really no different from walking into T-mobile and signing a contract to get a 'free' or subsidized iphone. They take your id there.

Anyone who was able to unlock the phone? Was it after 60 days or 90 days?
I had activated mine on April 20th and waiting to see when it gets unlocked or if I need to do something on my end after 60 or 90 days.

Just go to Settings - General - About phone and scroll down to Carrier Lock and it should say unlocked.

Mine unlocked after 60 days. Got the phone , activated, thrown into drawer for 60 days. 61th day pulled from drawer replaced tw sim with my T-Mobile and restarted the phone, that's it.

You're 100% right except for bigger sensors on the cameras, auto focus on the front facing camera, crash detection, emergency satellite usage for free. And of course, a year longer support.
