If you try to pay off the full balance of the device through your online verizon account or over the phone you will not be allowed to before your account has been active for 30 days. This is how they force you into having to pay for the entire first month.

It is sometimes possible to go into a Verizon store with your new account info and pay off the balance with cash in person before your account has reached 30 days. Then you are free to cancel the line before the full 30 days, with the perfect situation being you do this all within 72 hours of device purchase and you have a case to have your first month of service and any activation fees waived. Leaving you to only have paid the cost of the device. And since it has been activated, the 60 day unlock timer will continue and you'll have an unlocked device in 2 months.

yes it will work , or you can pay off early at store in cash but that in YMMV.
Which part of it is YMMV? do you mean some stores will not allow you to pay off early? TIA

Does this qualify for keep and switch at T-Mobile where they pay to 800 for your remaining balance when you switch?

You need 90 days of service. It most likely is eligible though..

That would still be a great deal. Considering 3 months of payment of 17 for the phone and 50 for the plan so totally 201 out of pocket but the rest would be paid off by tmobile.

$600 is not a deal. The S24 is over a year old

Would really be a deal if it was the S25

I see the phone at the same pricing on ATT as well. Wasn't there a clean way of buying it, paying it off, cancel the plan, unlock within 72 hours with ATT, that had a detailed step by step procedure on one of the SD threads? Is that method still valid? I am not able to find that old thread where a fine soul had put in all the effort to capture the instructions.

Oh, you're one of those who thinks they need a new phone every year to do phone stuff?

Gotcha, pro.

no one gave me 550 for the 512 gb s24 ultra I got from google fi last year, hence let go the similar deal on s25 ultra, so no resale value in my area. even BB's TIV is 325

You will have to wait for next year. They only do it once a year.

Got my ultra for $120 with legs work. I missed the 2 previous years for S23 and S24
