Just a heads up. The address listed on Rove Dashcam's website is actually a rented private mailbox (PMB) at a UPS Store. That's kind of like the equivalent of using a gmail for business. It may signal something about the company's level of establishment. Worth keeping in mind.

If you research online from (dashcamtalk, project farm, and others) they will lead you to VIOFO A119 mini 2 or REDTIGER F7NP. Better cams for a few bucks more

It's a Chinese word salad brand. Pretty much a given. There are very few brands that you can count on when a warranty is needed.

Tried this one hoping for a solid starvis 2 application. Negatory. Dark settings were grainy and license plates were bunk from 5 feet away (Yes, I walked around with it in hand). .02

Need a camera for new car and ordered this yesterday. Family member has previous model that's worked well enough for three years. Can't decide whether to keep or get Thinkware Q200 on sale at BB for $170. Any advice appreciated.

Viofo ethics are sketchy given the Lifehackster accident where they went oh some early units had issues but owners never notified or recalled.

Comparing this to VIOFO a229 pro. Both have nearly identical specs but VIOFO is almost triple in price without sd memory. I like VIOFO, I have a mini 2 but for $90, I'm considering ROVE.

This Rove-R2 Dual uses Sony Starvis 2 IMX675 and not the IMX678 camera lens. It's upscaled to support 4k.

The IMX678 is an 8.3MP sensor designed for 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels) recording, while the IMX675 is a 5.12MP sensor suitable for 2K (2560 x 1440p) recording.
