If you're getting the Meta Quest 3S I have some helpful info below

If you don't like the "free" games of the month you can hold off activating Meta+ for 3 months.

Games claimed for "free" through the subscription are only accessible with an active subscription.

$30 credit for those that use a friend link prior to device setup (it's a ban-able offense on SD to post/request such links but check Reddit)

ALL SALES ARE TARGETED meaning they could offer 50% off to one account and no sale for another.

When buying games check for developer links to save a flat 15-20% when there is no active sale on the game.

You're going to want a better strap and there's 2 or 3 great options for under $100. Some have hot swap batteries.

If you have glasses or a stigmatism, there are snap on prescription lenses for $20 on sites or $50 direct from Meta.

The max credit you can attain per year is $599 (anything $600+ is taxable)

The 4th gen headset is expected 2026/2027

There's free 3rd party software like OcularMigraine that improves visuals at the cost of battery life.

The games with PCVR need the Meta app for PC and many others recommend Virtual Desktop when on sale.

You do not need to link FB/IG to your account can use a normal email account.

If you mess up the $30 link you have 7 days to click a $30 link and factory reset your headset and go through initial setup to get it. Otherwise you need a good bit of personal info from the other person for support to process it. Sometimes there's a promo for $60 credit so check the app.

There's no crossbuy and if you see it that means it gives you a Meta PC copy you need the app to play.

360 videos through the YouTube app are not true 4K and should be downloaded to view uncompressed.

Rechargeable batteries for the controllers are a must as they take 1 AA each.

Activate 2 factor authentication and set a pin for purchases to minimize accidents. There is a small return window for purchases but YMMV with support.

Those with GeForceNow can use it with the headset but the experience is not amazing yet.

Do NOT expose headset or lenses to direct or reflected sunlight (use a cover)

If you owned a Quest 2 and purchase a Quest 3 you may still be able to get the $30 activation credit.

Do NOT leave the headset charging for hours unsupervised or with 3rd party plugs/cables

Always read reviews as Most Recent and check online for in-depth reviews.

I've accidentally punched my headset during a vr workout and thankfully it was fine but mind your surroundings.

Meta+ is not needed to use the headset (my 3 month trial just ran out)

Edit: The 3S low storage is not ideal. Many games are only a few GB but some are 30-60GB but that shouldn't be too much of an issue if you delete games regularly after you've beaten or tried them.

I'm frustrated with their pricing. Everything leads with what the price hypothetically could be. There is no way to know up front what it costs until you start trying to buy.
Unlimited on Mint was $15/mo/line last year and I can't imagine going back. Comically Verizon Wireless sends emails saying "We've changed for you!".
Fios pricing in this promotion is good but throwing in the asterisk that this pricing is only with Verizon Wirelss service really kills the deal.

i've been on fios for years, but considering cancelling and having my wife sign up so we can get a new user bonus. anyone got tips to do this, or how to minimize downtime?
We did this in my house. Wife ordered new service at the same address. She alluded to us divorcing as the reason for needing to have service in her name and wanting new equipment (we aren't divorcing LOL). Equipment was delivered and plugged in the new router when it was delivered. Pretty seamless.

You dont need any excuses, my wife and I bounce between having the billing in one of our names every two years.
No one ever questions it, one of use calls to to cancel, the other calls to enroll. Done.

Can you go over a little bit how you did this? Are the calls easy and quick? Or could you do it through chat?

Was there any service interruptions? Or did you select self installation and they just ship you the modem router and you just swap it?

I am not a fan of large internet providers, every single experience i had is that they will try to scam you every single time.

And if you dont pay attention to billing, they will ramp up prices without telling you.

They will tell that they change package, and randomly you start to pay 30 instead of 20, and after that 50 etc.

Or increase your speed as a "free benefits" and in 3 month will start to charge you extra for this speed. I had that experience aswell.

But what's is the actual price for the 1Gbit speed? I don't see it listed

Nvm. It's in the pics I have to zoom $75 a month for 1gb. I pay $25 now for 300mbs. I will stay put

Verizon are a joke. I've been with them 7 years and the best I can get is $79.99 for the gig and they won't budge. I call every 12 months and they give me $10 discount for a year on the 300mbit plan. They will do everything but lower the price of the standalone FIOS packages, they want you signed up to their rip off cell plans too for an extra measly $10 off. Screw them.

I've twice almost switched to Verizon but they refused both times to disclose my out the door price including all taxes and fees so how could I compare to my present deal?

The freebies are nice, but my 600mbps Xfinity plan (no data cap yet) is still under $50/month with my own router. I definitely won't notice the extra 400mpbs in our 2 person household and I agree with some others here that, if offered, you should consider lower speeds if you are 4 person household or less. Unless you're a large family, a power user / IT consultant, or a data hoarder you probably don't need that 1gbps plan.

They finally came out my way, kinda rural area only option was xfinity. But, signed up with Verizon. Got the meta quest, a 100 visa gc, disney bundle included and a fire tablet all included. The cost after military discount was 89/mo for 1gbps (no mobile lines). I was paying 130/mo on xfinity for same speed so super welcomed this.

Unless you are Elon Musk and have a big family, anything higher than 300Mbit is waste of money. $40 plan is about $300 in annual savings. Don't fall for it. No ned to show off to your friends and neighbors your speed tests lol
