This drive is back on sale. I'm looking to fill out a home built NAS.
I was looking at some drives and found this on sale again for $280. I'm debating whether to grab some.

These are only worth if they're EXOS inside otherwise buy recertified EXOS and they will be even more reliable than these barracudas
Isn't recertified under fraud alert for excessive hours wiped from the HDD logs (FARM stats)?

These are suitable just for backups ,not NAS , I would prefer ironwolf even non pro is fine over exos (SAS) & barracuda

Is there a reason why lately we've only been seeing seagate drives go on sale and nothing from WD?

I've heard rumors that Seagate is discontinuing the line and discounting all the existing units. I think it's only a bargain if you are getting a confirmed EXOS unit (the 14TB are confirmed EXOS), although if you are looking for a storage device for cold storage, the Barracudas will probably do the job.

Not really a surprise, but I bought one of these this week and it has a Barracuda (ST24000DM001). Months ago, the last time Best Buy discounted it, it carried an Exos.

I see 269.99. How do you get it to 249.99?
I see the lower price.

Got the 22TB direct from Seagate.com their other day for $215.99
Deal? That's less than $10 a TB, that's very cheap no?

The real deal is the 18tb from Seagate for $197 that comes with the EXOS (for now). This 22tb is a Barracuda.

Thanks. That's exactly the one I jumped on with the 10% coupon. I was under the impression that they dropped the price on the 22tb because it was a discontinued EXOS? Seems not to be the case. Hate the lottery they force us into.

I can't say for sure, but so far I've purchased a 22tb, a 14tb, and a 18tb. (The 18tb is still being shipped)

The 22tb is a Baracuda
The 14tb is a EXOS
The 18tb SHOULD be an EXOS according to reddit. I'll update when it arrives.
