22TB for $250 in the same model line seems to be a better deal
Those are not EXOS (anymore), they are Barracuda I believe. Someone else can correct me.

This is easily suckable and I can confirm that it does have "EXOS" did the same thing 3 weeks ago and in for 2 more. .
How recently did you shuck this? It's the enclosure with the diagonal stripes? I can't seem to find the seam to dig into…

Ok, in case anyone was having the same problem I was, here's a video showing shucking the same kind of case I got. Maybe it's random whether you get the beveled squares (like all the others I found) or diagonal stripes. https://youtu.be/2-lH-EoNVwk?si=vG7y20Eqm2sh7Vq-

Mine shipped today and is set to arrive the following day (IL to MN). TIL seagate has faster shipping than Amazon Prime.

edit: received mine, they were EXOS. Model number st18000nm000j-2tv103. Same model number and firmware as the internal EXOS I purchased last year.

I shucked mine open with a box cutter, a metal cell phone spudger and a table fork. Use the box cutter to eventually make a gap about 1 inch long, then the spudger to widen the gap for the fork. Jam the fork in there carefully using the spudger at the same time like a shoe horn. Once the tines of the fork are halfway in or more, just use the fork to pop the entire top off in one motion. It pops right off first try. You will also need a small screwdriver set, I reinstalled 2 of the 3 small screws.

Does that mean the warranty on these is now void because the drive has been shucked? I'm guessing if it failed, they would expect the external enclosure with the drive, returned to them intact to provide warranty service?

Ordered Monday evening and received it via UPS today. Got the ST18000NM00J Exos like everyone else.

EDIT: Removed the drive from the enclosure pretty easily (see YT video linked a few posts above; thank you for that). The little plastic clips DO break off pretty easily (can't tell if by design or whatever), so if you plan to re-use the enclosure at some point, pry carefully, etc.

Is it possible to see the model w/o shucking the drive?

Yes, the quickest/easiest way for me to do that was using CrystalDiskInfo [crystalmark.info] since my PC runs Windows. Depending on your OS, there should be (command line or with a GUI) tools that can show the drive info.
