All good. You are principled 😀
I have a 55" TV in my home office that I consider replacing because it sometime shows very saturated colors when I turn it on and I have to unplug/replug to fix it. Today, at Costco, my wife wouldn't let me look at TVs to replace it. She thought I was too lazy and I should get off my chair to do the unplug/plug motion! But a cheap TV would do the job for my application; though 65" is too big for my application so I wasn't going to buy this anyway (so relax 🤪)
Get a smart plug ($$ plus app) or a power strip with on/off switch.

You know what i kind of like doing is shopping for TVs based on their interface. Some Smart TVs have better interfaces than others. For example, some have apps that are used more often by you than others. One of my favorite TVs is Vizio because the interface is just really cool and the TV OS is very snappy and fast. The remote is also very responsive which is a plus. You can point the remote in the opposite direction of the TV and it will still control the TV. Some TVs require the remote to be directly pointed at it -- things like this make a difference. Some of the "Smart" TVs are slow and clunky, others are easy to use. This is helpful when you can hand your company coming over the remote and they can control the TV without a training class. Check Youtube for the TV interface reviews. LG is one of the few TVs to advertise "AI".

I think some of y'all that are quick to throw shade at cheap TVs don't realize that some of us have like 6 TVs in our house. We're not always gonna throw down $2k on a TV if it's not the "main" one.

Where did you find the rtings review? The only thing I could find was for the UT75 (supposedly an upgrade to the UT70) which got pretty mediocre ratings.

The deal price for 65" cheapest was $250 for at least last 6 years. I'm not sure if we're going to see it again due to tariffs. So this might not be a bad deal if you need one now.
$250 for a 65" they are mass shipping all their items to US warehouses so avoid the tariffs we wont see much of a price increase for a 3-4 years.. perfect timing huh.

What would be your recommended 65inch TV for $350?

That's worse than the Roku select series I snagged open box from Best Buy for $150! That TV at least got a 5.4.

(It was the 55" version versus 65" here, but still, I do think it reflects on the quality of the deal)
