Warming up your toilet seat 1st thing before you go?

So I was wondering, is it really necessary to warm up your toilet seat before you go in the morning? How long do you need to warm up your toilet seat? And once you've already warmed it up, is it still necessary to warm it up any other time you use it during the day?

Does it depend on how old your toilet is? How cold in the morning it is? Are there any other factors that influence how long you have to warm up a toilet seat?

I helped a buddy remodel their 2nd bathroom and we all had to use the MBR Bathroom.

They had one of those bidet / seat warmer toilet seats.

Never needed the bidet part, but it was weird using it the first few times.
They left it on warm 24/7.

So I consulted the experts, and most experts recommended:

1) Use old throwaway socks
2) Let someone else sit on the toilet seat before you
3) Sit on heated water bottles
4) Move to Japan

My father passed away several years ago. All I know is that he liked to read on the toilet.
