Seems like Bosch phased out the older brushed version. That one sold at clearance with just one battery for $99 if I'm not mistaken. I tried buying it twice from Amazon, but the shipping was so slow that I canceled both of them. Gonna have to think about this one. Wish Milwaukee made the M12 like this. That's what they sell in Europe, but for some reason the US version has a weird D handle thing going on. Gonna have to think about this one.

Yeah, bosch has always dominated the mid tier 12v game here in the US.

Most tools are sold now based on the selling point of "MoAr ToRqUe!!!!" Lol.

I really prefer their brushless 12v these days. I've just left all of my brushed stuff to plug on based on larger tools. Heck, even the modern-day heavier duty tools have come so far due to brushless motors and battery tech.

But if I could only own one brand and one tier, it would be the 12v Bosch.

My only gripe with Bosch's 12v lineup is battery costs. I'd like to see them upgrade to a 21700 cell if they're going yo charge such high prices for their larger capacity batteries. I end up buying the cloned knockoff batteries these days (unless there's a crazy sale, then I'll buy a bunch of Bosch brands.

Bosch in general, has a battery issue. Their 18v and 12v don't last long, and their chargers aren't very high tech.

But with things going the way they are here in the US, it's going to be tough to get much of anything soon. So I'm glad I bought spares.

FYI: for the same price, you can get their oscillating tool with it as well... https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/18286981

That picture seems to indicate 3 batteries, but the description says only 2 so I am not sure it it comes with 3 or not..

I guess they don't call it the Chameleon anymore? Anyways, I picked a brushed version up on clearance at TSC a few years ago for like $30 and it's typically my go to drill/driver for daily around the house stuff. Light, compact, easy to use/work with. I love it. I'm sure this brushless version is even better. Great tool.

Got it today with the free oscillating tool... checked on the price of blades and they are crazy expensive for the "Starlock" type.. like $8 or more each... anybody have experience with these and recommend a generic?
