I read the reviews and the most important part is that the window width MUST be 25" or larger or the supporting brackets will not fit in the window to hold the unit as intended. Apparently this most BASIC info was not included on the box, but does appear in the instructions inside the box. I hope this info will save you time and effort as it did me.

I wonder how good this is compared to the Midea 8k. The midea 8k U is so quiet when it's on the lowest cooling demand, I love it.

Just installed the unit on a just shy of 22" window frame, works great and it's very quiet.
Had to shortened one of the extensions that screws on the window frame in order to secure the ac bracket.

That's so strange then... I didn't see it on description on Costco or... the hisense website... That's something you'd usually advertise no?
It is on page 23 of the manual on Costco website.

Well that's why I said description of the product or advertised lol. Most people don't actually go through pages of the manual to figure out features. But thanks anyway for confirming 😂

Minimum Height = 15", width = 25 - 38".
Man, it needs more height than the higher BTU Midea (13.75" iirc)

Anybody know the power draw of this unit? I do not see it listed in the manual or elsewhere?

I think most windows in southern california slide horizontally.

are vertical sliding windows far more common in the rest of the country?

Does anyone know if Midea has a smallish unit like this one? I have a pair of the 8k BTUs but I could not fit them in a window (attic conversion, the window is in the dormer so it is smaller than standard). A unit like this look like it would work but I am concerned with quality (hisense vs midea). Any insight would be appreciated!

I bought the 12K Midea for a gym shed, but think I may return that and get this one. It's probably more appropriately sized, and hopefully doesn't have the mold concerns of the Midea.
I think this needs to be emphasized more. I have 2 of the midea u shaped ones. It is completely impractical to clean out the motor cage on the midea units. Lot of people have mold issues. Something to consider beyond noise and price.

Anyone know how far outside the window this extends? I have an obstruction outside and have limited depth this can stick out. Thanks

Looks like that's the case if you're pushing it into place from the inside. If you're installing from the outside probably a lot less. Perfect for low-rise first floor windows. Been looking for something like this for years. Very tempting.

These units can be cleaned, but you need to completely disassemble, which is a lot of work. Until something else comes out, that is better, Midea's are top of their game.
