I mean, yeah, it's a little shady to abuse the retention department, but I got stuff to do, I'm not sitting on hold for 45 mins, told some bs, get disconnected while on hold or xfr'd, and then call back in and wait for a supervisor, like a lot of people here did.
It was a 5 minute call and my phone was on my account and working.
Smarter not Harder, friends. 🙂

Also, am I correct in assuming the secondary sim card won't work until unlocked?
I'm wondering is how does Total Wireless make any money if you can just leave after 3 months? Everybody else seems to lock you into a 24 month package so it makes sense to give you a free phone. Do they just hope you'll like the service so much you keep paying for it? I'm not complaining but I'm curious.

still on a call with an agent. seems she's getting nowhere. while i'm on the line, i'm also trying on my end to activate. i got a different error message this time: "you must bring your number if you want to activate this device. in the next step please select "i want to keep my number" option."
it looks like false hope dashed.
after about an hour waiting on the agent to figure out what's preventing her from activating the device, she finally got the same requirement: a number has to be ported to be able to activate this. BUMMER!
