Turns out Citibank double cash has a 12 dollar merchant cash back offer. Also, just a heads up that I had difficulty checking out with the Brave browser. Switched to Firefox and it worked okay. I'm wondering is how does Total Wireless make any money if you can just leave after 3 months? Everybody else seems to lock you into a 24 month package so it makes sense to give you a free phone. Do they just hope you'll like the service so much you keep paying for it? I'm not complaining but I'm curious.
Was an even better deal when people only needed to pay for 30 days service & wait for 60 days to unlock (policy just changed to 60 days paid service April 1). You've been missing out all these years.

I guess so. I normally just buy my phone directly from Costco or Samsung. I'll have to consider this the next time as well... Assuming giving away these phones don't put them out of business.

They've been in business since the 80's - you've never heard of Tracfone/Straight Talk/Total Wireless? They're now owned by Verizon so seriously doubt they go out of business anytime soon.

Sure I heard of them but never actually considered using them and definitely didn't know they were giving out free phones for 3 months of service but I guess it must be worth it for them. I guess better late than never.

Also, am I correct in assuming the secondary sim card won't work until unlocked?

Probably has to do something with you giving them your ID and doing some data selling etc

Thanks OP for the deal! Repped! I just got two, one in each color. Bought two new numbers from NumberBarn.com ($5+$2 Park It to receive SMS to verify =$7 for each number). Additionally, Capital One credit cards Offers give me $21 back for each phone/transaction to sweeten it a little more. ❤️ 🔥

Did you get this msg "pending remote fullfillment" ?
Yes and I called customer service and they said that's because the phone is not released yet.

It looks like they may have fixed the loophole where you could get a new number instead of port out your number. I see the option to get a new number but an error comes up saying call Total wireless number. Has anyone else had luck?

same error. i'm on a call right now with an agent. it seems even they are unable to activate with a new number. i'm not bringing up that porting a number is required to activate this. i'm trying to see if that even shows up on her system.

still on a call with an agent. seems she's getting nowhere. while i'm on the line, i'm also trying on my end to activate. i got a different error message this time: "you must bring your number if you want to activate this device. in the next step please select "i want to keep my number" option."

it looks like false hope dashed.

after about an hour waiting on the agent to figure out what's preventing her from activating the device, she finally got the same requirement: a number has to be ported to be able to activate this. BUMMER!

Right. Just got a shipping confirmation and arriving tomorrow. Thought it won't ship until 5/20. Hope it's not only a sim card. Big Grin
