I had Fi for 6 months it failed to make calls to my area (I know now my area cost more to route calls to, and this is most likely the reason. Google voice will not route calls to my area unless I pay for the calls. https://support.google.
Ok so every time I called support I was asked to reboot my phone, collect logs. One time they told me to go to the number I was calling, so I called bullshit then I called their bluff and told them they would stay on the line while I drove over there, they changed their mind. They blamed the terminating number even when I proved I could call with my home phone. One day they made me drive 25 miles to make a test call (they actually tried this twice). Every call would end in a promise to raise the issue to routing. Finally I reported them to the fcc. I got a call from a Google Rep without an Indian accent he refunded me the 6 months and paid for the phone I bought to be on Fi. Instead of fixing the issue they bought me out so I would tell the FCC we are good.
Never ever again.
edit. why did I stay? my kid bought a phone on a discount through them so we were trying to make it work so we wouldn't get penalized.
Network switching
iPhone® does not support international network switching, but you'll still get great coverage.
So we cannot use another international SIM? just want to know if anyone tried.
edit me, my wife and adult children use it. my son's wife switched to it. I got my mom on the low end plan because she never uses the phone.
