It would have been $1350 brand new. Although they might have given out the watch for people that pre-ordered the pixel 8 pro. Even still that was $999
All that said you can probably get the pixel 8 pro for about 350 on Amazon renewed. So for an extra 150 you can get it brand new and the watch. If you don't care about the watch though I'd probably just rescue a renewed one. If you're patient you'll probably could get it below $300 by years end
Yeah well that's because the chip inside the s20 FE was fabricated by TSMC. Samsung fabricated the tensor 3. When Samsung fabricated Qualcomm chips they had similar issues. And of course their own chips. Thankfully Google is moving to have TSMC fabricate them in the future starting with the pixel 10. Bad news is it looks like they're going to stick with the Samsung modem for at least another year. Which was also inefficient and contributed to heat and battery drain
Again, at the end of the day $500 for a modern day phone with a great camera and a free watch is not bad. Just personally I don't want to be stuck with an inferior product especially with the Pixel 10 coming out with a new Tensor chip that SHOULD be a big upgrade from 8/9.
I don't think the pixel 8 is known for being worse than the Pixel 6 or the Pixel 7. They've all been using the same Samsung internals just a slightly newer generation of the modem if anything the six would have been the worst. The nine is still on a Samsung modem. It is still slightly improved but it's still way way below The main competition with modems from and radios from Qualcomm and mediatek.

I agree, and the real trick was buying a prepaid $110 iphone se 3 from target and trading it to bestbuy and getting $460+ towards the bundle, that was the real deal. Some hoops but overall pretty easy for a brand new flagship phone that cheap with the watch included. The phone is still probably great at this point, I traded it towards a 9 pro xl over the winter. The watch even when it was new was underwhelming for me. Def a pass at this point.
