And?

Every time I work with USM staff they are competent, polite, and patient. And almost always get things right on the first effort!

To compare, "US-based" Consumer Cellular is a joke for "customer service."

I switched from T-Mobile to US Mobile last month. I wish I switched sooner.

Very easy to port out. No issues. It's great being able to switch between all three networks, which is unique to US Mobile.

My wife was hesitant to switch, but she's had no issues at all on Dark Star (AT&T). I have RCS issues on Dark Star with a OnePlus 13, but no issues on Warp (Verizon).

Interesting. Slightly different, but I asked 5 different agents if I could swap numbers on any of the BOGO lines with other new port-in lines on my account and they all said no.
I went back through the posts to see where my error in thinking got introduced - you are absolutely correct that at time of activation there needs to be a port-in. Folks were buying plans knowing they would stay in the account and wait for 30 days and still be under the promo and capable of activating. Here is the most robust of posted T's and C's

https://www.usmobile.com/terms

Annual Unlimited Premium and Annual Unlimited Starter "Buy One, Get One" deal:
From 6/2/2025 to 6/7/2025 (or until supplies last, whichever comes first), US Mobile is offering the "Buy One, Get One" promotion on specific Annual plans:
1. A user will receive a free Annual Starter plan if the user purchases an Annual Premium plan, and a free Annual Flex plan if the user purchases an Annual Starter plan.
2. To receive the free plan, the user must activate their purchased plan first. The paid plan must be activated on Dark Star and the line must be a port in. New number activations and activations of the paid plan on US Mobile's other networks will not be eligible to receive a free plan.
3. Once the paid line has met the eligibility criteria (a port in on Dark Star) the free line will be available to activate under "My Lines" on the user's dashboard within 24 hours.
4. The free plan must also be activated on our Dark Star network and the line must be a port in. The option to activate a new number or activate on a different network will not be available on the free plan tile.
5. The port in lines on both the paid plan and the free plan must not have been active on US Mobile in the last 15 days. Port ins that were active on US Mobile within the last 15 days will not count as eligible port ins for this offer.
6. The free annual plan must be activated within 30 days of being made available on the user's dashboard. It will expire after 30 days if it is unactivated.
7. An account will be eligible to receive a maximum of three Buy One, Get One deals. Additional annual plan purchases, even if port ins on Dark Star, will not get a second free Annual plan.
8. Once the free plan is also activated, the paid line will become non refundable, even if the paid line would otherwise have met the criteria for a refund. That is, the normal refund criteria (outlined in the section below on the multi-month plan refund policy) are superceded by the activation of the free Buy One, Get One plan tile.
9. On both the paid plan and the free plan, the ability to transfer networks will be available after activation. However, Dark Star must remain both lines' primary network and the lines' must be on Dark Star for at least 90% of the time (that is, they must not be on another network for more than 36 days of the annual plan).
10. If a user wants to move either the paid line or the free line to one of our other networks for more than 10% of the time, they can do so but the free line will be converted to a paid plan and they will be charged the prorated amount owed for any remaining months on the free annual plan.
11. The free line will be giftable (once the gifting feature is available sometime in June 2025): that is, a user who receives a free Annual plan as part of the BOGO deal can transfer that free line to another user (this could be an existing user or someone who is not yet a US Mobile user – they will receive the free plan after creating their US Mobile account).
12. Once a free line is gifted, and the transfer to the recipient's account is complete, even if the gifted line has not yet been activated on the recipient's account, the paid line on the sender's account will become non refundable.
13. If a user upgrades their paid plan from Annual Starter to Annual Premium, the gift line will not be upgraded (that is, if a user purchased an Annual Starter plan and received a free Annual Flex plan, the free plan will remain on Annual Flex even if the user later upgrades the Starter plan to a Premium plan).

Are you with Visible? Might be better to go with them for now if not

Warp --> Verizon
LightSpeed --> TMobile
Dark Star --> AT&T

im looking to get in on Verizon plan.

thinking of getting unlimited starter

given that:
i rarely use more than 70gb of data
i rarely use 20gb of hot spot.
dont have smart watch
dont see myself doing any network transfers
right now, need only 1 plan

is there any advantage of going with premium on usmobile?

is there any advantage of going with visible? or xfinity mobile?
--both which use verizon

in terms of priority data, etc

I'm on an AT&T unlimited plan right now (I assume it's QC8). Coverage is fine in my area. Would you expect any performance difference between my current AT&T unlimited plan and the Dark Star Premium? Is native AT&T QC8 is the same as MVNO QC8?

Are you on a base unlimited plan on AT&T? Seems like that might be QC9, unless I'm misreading:

https://www.reddit.com/r/NoContra...riers_and/

I believe QCI # is all that matters, there is no priority within a group.

Nice to bump into you on a cell plan or cell device thread. US Mobile even at the lower class of QCI can have advantages on Warp - for example they slow data to a usable 1Mbps at the end of high speed allotment whereas as other "unlimited" services throttle to an unviable lower speed. You actually would have been fine on one of the Total Wireless offers if you could join an account with other lines. I think their "family" plan allows for low prices for lines 3 and 4 - not sure if you can pack on the lines like they used to on TMo military plans. I locked in four lines at four for 60 on a TMo port-in deal - price locked for five years. Service has yet to let me down domestically although it seems international roaming is more challenging on Total than on other providers.

If I think of any other trade-offs I'll let you know.

Wife and I have been with US Mobile for over a year with basic unlimited plan $15 month. Excellent service, no issues. Get 5g where available. Highly Recommend. They renewed my annual plan without increasing price. $180 yr.

hello dan. good to see u as well.

thanks for reply/feedback.

my sprint bill (now Tmobile) went up 40 last month.

8 lines UNL everything

went from ~150==>~190. (tax + fees included)

thinking may now be the time to switch.

V plan ~20/m x 8 still less than 190.
and 2 lines dont use much data at all....so could get them on the att buy 1 get 1 free plan.

issue is what to do when 1 year is up.

juggling 1 line from promotion to promotion is manageable

8 lines ,,id rather not...lol

so the comparable plan now would be the UNL flex? which is 17.5/m?
so price went up a bit?
but they renewed u at the 180/y rate? interesting.
was the 180/y still available when they renewed u or did it already jump to 210/y ?

when you buy the multi network addon, will the device automatically switch if there is no signal in one service or is it manual? been looking at switching from tmobile to this with addon since i have abysmal service in my location.

I think network transfer is manual . but multinetwork is automatic.
