The hd800s it's excellent option, I doubt it's better than a well amplified HD800s.

ASR (Amir) loves DCA because it's close to the Harman Target or whatever target line he looks for. That's it. There's no real science involved. That's not a knock on DCA headphones but his analysis means nothing in the scope of things.

IMO - These cans need EQ or at minimum a VERY warm amp to be driven out of. Oratory's parametric EQ settings + my M3 Max Macbook Pro (3V high impedance mode headphone output) work great for me.
