10/3/2025.
Reports are that boost may may changed their T & C.
(Around 10/1/2025 . maybe, not clear)
Requiring activating phone and using service for some time.
(3 months?).
Do your research.
However, may not matter much as phone appears to be gone for good from boost website.

You must activate the phone on boost network within 30 days of purchase.
If not you may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
best practice=open the phone. activate the boost account. make a call or 2. send a text or 2
phone call &/or text just insures the phone number has been fully registered on the boost network
while not entirely necessary, just to be safe.
and not get a $600 bill or get sent to collections
[ which has happened to at least one user on this thread ]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
make sure u activate.
By checking this box I agree to e-transaction/e-signature, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions. Once activated I authorize Boost Mobile to automatically charge my card monthly for my Boost Mobile services, taxes and surcharges. My service will not begin until my SIM is activated. If you do not activate your Device(s) on the Boost Mobile network within 30 days of purchase, you may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s) (less your purchase price), if applicable, to the card used today or any alternative method. . I also agree to receive communications regarding this order via email, SMS, or phone call using the contact information provided

Buying multiple phones?
Consider this.
The first phone will be 120.
Subsequent phones (either purchased at same time on withing next few days) will be less.
Boost has a weird way of billing and its often confusion. No one has figured it out yet.
Many have made speculations:
For example. Below is from a user.
My first purchase cost me $125.90 in total then subsequently thereafter I purchased 2x more phones which came out to $94.84 each.
Since you bought the first phone at regular price, Boost treats any further purchases as an additional line since they're on the same account.
However, bear in mind Boost will automatically enable autopay again so be sure to disable it prior to your next billing cycle recurring.

You seem very knowledgeable and wanted to ask about the SIM card. When I go to activate the phone I need the IMEI and SIM card number. Does the card need to be inserted into the phone to activate it online. Asking because I might not have access to the phone. Thanks
i would add. if possible. do insert sim. make a call or 2.
remember you are agreeing to activate the phone in T & C.
i would take the additional precaution to "fully activate" by registering a call.

Looks like this is an oversea company and is roaming on T-Mobile in my area. The RedteaGO SIM shows up under "Mobile network". But the eSIM is still hidden in About phone/SIM status.
but i think the question is how do u register the esim on the phone?
did u enter imei2 online on redtea site?
did u scan a qr code on the phone?
if i add another phone, the charge for plan is listed as $1.29.
total is 61.28

Edit: Nevermind. I see that you just mentioned that you don't need to insert the sim card in the phone to activate it and nothing about activating it without the sim card or the phone.
I might go ahead and try to order.

Is there any way to try a Boost eSIM on this phone before using the enclosed SIM to activate it on Boost? One poster noted this a question, but no answers yet. If this might work, would solve the eSIM issue. Is this the reason to ask Boost for a QR code?
I would also like to be able to use an eSIM for this phone and prefer not to change the OS. (FWIW, Rob Braxman uses IodeOS for his de-googled and anti-spyware phone. I think it can be used for the MEP 2023, but just a guess.) Other postings mention other OS's, retail, retail US versions and difficulty in getting Android updates, especially security updates, OTA non synch issues etc once you use a non-Boost / DISH version of Android. Bricking the phone always seems to be a risk as well. Instabridge: (WIFI Hotspot Map, eSIM etc) gets horrible reviews on Play Store -so I will not use it, despite a couple of postings about using it. I read the new posts about RedteaGO eSIM. https://esim.redteago.c
In the meantime, I am a bit confused about the posts where Boost or another provider is supposed to offer us a QR code. If you call or do a chat, you have to provide a reason for the request - what EXACTLY is this QR code supposed to do for us and why, .... ? How do we receive it - email? Once received do we just scan it from desktop monitor via phone camera and poof, we enter the Magic Kingdom? Sorry to be thick.
Does this Boost promotion only work if you port in an existing number from a source outside Boost, eg Verizon? If you do not port in a number, will Boost assign you a new phone number at zero cost or do you have to somehow buy a new phone number first? Is it safest to burn a number assigned by Boost and after the first prepaid month is finished, and after successful $12-15 ish unlock works, switch to a number used on an older phone you want to replace via switching SIM / eSIM?
It seems you must activate the MEP 2023 meaning you have to open the box, use the enclosed SIM, do some calls, texts and use some data, etc. Will that crush the resale value? I assume a factory reset will be required.
Thanks in advance.

From New Orleans with love
altho i'm not sure how this would help me either, as i dont know how to get another esim qr code, i was wondering perhaps for my 12r.
i'm very unclear how esims actually work
in this case at least its actually more controlling, because if visible wont let me go through their esim processes, due to always checking an imei whitelist to start, it doesnt matter what the phone supports. which is not the case with pysical sim such as the iphone workaround.
