10/3/2025.
Reports are that boost may may changed their T & C.
(Around 10/1/2025 . maybe, not clear)
Requiring activating phone and using service for some time.
(3 months?).
Do your research.
However, may not matter much as phone appears to be gone for good from boost website.

You must activate the phone on boost network within 30 days of purchase.
If not you may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
best practice=open the phone. activate the boost account. make a call or 2. send a text or 2
phone call &/or text just insures the phone number has been fully registered on the boost network
while not entirely necessary, just to be safe.
and not get a $600 bill or get sent to collections
[ which has happened to at least one user on this thread ]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
make sure u activate.
By checking this box I agree to e-transaction/e-signature, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions. Once activated I authorize Boost Mobile to automatically charge my card monthly for my Boost Mobile services, taxes and surcharges. My service will not begin until my SIM is activated. If you do not activate your Device(s) on the Boost Mobile network within 30 days of purchase, you may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s) (less your purchase price), if applicable, to the card used today or any alternative method. . I also agree to receive communications regarding this order via email, SMS, or phone call using the contact information provided

Buying multiple phones?
Consider this.
The first phone will be 120.
Subsequent phones (either purchased at same time on withing next few days) will be less.
Boost has a weird way of billing and its often confusion. No one has figured it out yet.
Many have made speculations:
For example. Below is from a user.
My first purchase cost me $125.90 in total then subsequently thereafter I purchased 2x more phones which came out to $94.84 each.
Since you bought the first phone at regular price, Boost treats any further purchases as an additional line since they're on the same account.
However, bear in mind Boost will automatically enable autopay again so be sure to disable it prior to your next billing cycle recurring.

I can say from my own experience that this is slightly incorrect. Prepaid service yes but agreements are exactly that regardless of post/prepaid class. Boost has sent one of my "failure to activate" accounts to collections. I did activate the device with am Agent on the phone and was assigned a number. It's an error on the part and out of all the purchases and activations I have done it has only happened to 1 device and that was a Moto G Stylus 2023 or '24. The collection agency emails me at least once per week and I will dispute it, I just haven't.
Edit: updated with email
How can they collect if they dont have your SSN? They can't.
EDIT: right now, we only have the information from the quoted post, as well as Thrifty's email from collections for his line that had problems with the original activation.

i replaced my card with prepaid one from myprepaidcenter it had less then $1 on it left.
I removed it to get 30 day guarantee plan refunded to correct card and it wouldn't re-add then it worked few days later to re-add.
Anyone recommend a site to buy a prepaid visa card to try? I turned off autopay, but don't want to leave my actual cc sitting there.
I cannot use privacy.com. I want to buy a prepaid card.
I personally keep an extra iPhone around just to use the virtual card feature with Apple Cash. Works with Boost. You could have friend or someone you know generate a one-time use card number for you using that method also.
Edit: the possibility to create virtual cards on wise might depend where you are from
Be cautious with activating lines before you have the phones in hand. They have begun screening orders, it's possible for them to mark package 'return to sender' during shipment. Then you end up in a pickle between them refunding only the device cost and trying to still charge you for the unused service that needs to be resolved through a nightmare process with boost mobile support.
I didn't activate the lines. They activated the lines today. My order will be delivered tomorrow.
I ordered more phones and they went ahead to activate them already and tomorrow I received them. What the hell? And they charged me more money out of nowhere.
