10/3/2025.
Reports are that boost may may changed their T & C.
(Around 10/1/2025 . maybe, not clear)
Requiring activating phone and using service for some time.
(3 months?).
Do your research.
However, may not matter much as phone appears to be gone for good from boost website.

You must activate the phone on boost network within 30 days of purchase.
If not you may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
best practice=open the phone. activate the boost account. make a call or 2. send a text or 2
phone call &/or text just insures the phone number has been fully registered on the boost network
while not entirely necessary, just to be safe.
and not get a $600 bill or get sent to collections
[ which has happened to at least one user on this thread ]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
make sure u activate.
By checking this box I agree to e-transaction/e-signature, Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions. Once activated I authorize Boost Mobile to automatically charge my card monthly for my Boost Mobile services, taxes and surcharges. My service will not begin until my SIM is activated. If you do not activate your Device(s) on the Boost Mobile network within 30 days of purchase, you may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s) (less your purchase price), if applicable, to the card used today or any alternative method. . I also agree to receive communications regarding this order via email, SMS, or phone call using the contact information provided

Buying multiple phones?
Consider this.
The first phone will be 120.
Subsequent phones (either purchased at same time on withing next few days) will be less.
Boost has a weird way of billing and its often confusion. No one has figured it out yet.
Many have made speculations:
For example. Below is from a user.
My first purchase cost me $125.90 in total then subsequently thereafter I purchased 2x more phones which came out to $94.84 each.
Since you bought the first phone at regular price, Boost treats any further purchases as an additional line since they're on the same account.
However, bear in mind Boost will automatically enable autopay again so be sure to disable it prior to your next billing cycle recurring.

Now sending this email saying need to activate to keep device discount. I used virtual card so won't be able to charge anyway.

how do you know they're suspended if you ported out your number and therefore cannot access your boostmobile account?
They just sent email after 2 months saying active your plan to keep your device discount or gonna charge full price. They already been activated. The service was suspended months ago.
This should be interesting.I would quote them terms of your purchase: ". If you do not activate your Device(s) on the Boost Mobile network within 30 days of purchase, you may be charged the full MSRP of the Device(s) (less your purchase price), if applicable, to the card used today or any alternative method."

Compare that with today's ToC. That is a bit unnerving to say the least, and something I'd consider to be bait-and-switch by showing the 30 days*MSRP statement at the front, then hide the 3 months addition.

Um, it looks like they've changed their ToC since https://web.archive.org/web/20250...nd-account.

"If you get a Device from Boost Mobile or a Boost Mobile authorized retailer without paying the full price for it, you agree that you will activate the Device within 30 days and use the Device on the Boost Mobile network. For such customers who purchase a discounted Device from the Boost Mobile website only, if you do not maintain Service in good standing on the activated line for a minimum of three months then we will automatically collect from your payment method on file the full suggested retail price, less any discounted price already paid. You may not resell or trade in a Device that you purchased or financed from Boost Mobile until you have activated it and used it on the Boost Mobile network and until you have met all your other financial and contractual obligations to us, such as paying the full price for the Device. If you do not activate your Services or maintain your account in good standing with us we may require you to immediately pay the full price of any Devices you selected. We can use a credit card or any other payment means we have on file for your account. If you don't meet your obligations to us we can choose to take action against you, such as charging you for the remaining balance for your Device (including taxes) and seeking damages."

Not able to open that link but did find the TOS. Not sure if anyone can confirm this bait and switch but going to get pissy if Boost jerks us around. When did Boost change their policy? Not sure why anyone didn't mention this before unless it's recent.

Just copy/paste that T&C URI you went to into the search at web.archive.org, and you'll get a history of archives.

Concerning to say the least. When buying the phone we agreed to the one month of service not 3 months.
Edit: If you go to the current TOS linked above, this updated TOS says it was updated approx 21 hours ago if you scroll to the bottom of the page. So I would imagine all of the phone purchased prior to yesterday would fall under the previous Aug TOS. Maybe someone can clarify.

Thanks for that. When I bring up the August TOS, quite a bit different, no mention of 3 months, when did they update to this latest policy is the question. From the August TOS:
"If you get a Device from Boost Mobile or a Boost Mobile authorized retailer without paying the full price for it, you agree that you will activate the Device within 30 days and use the Device on the Boost Mobile network. You may not resell or trade in a Device that you purchased or financed from Boost Mobile until you have activated it and used it on the Boost Mobile network and until you have met all your other financial and contractual obligations to us, such as paying the full price for the Device. If they want the phone back at their own expense, along with a refund of the monthly plan, that'll be on them. Otherwise, I think providing the FTC/FCC/Attorney General/BBB for their bait-and-switch behavior would certainly be warranted (after the gov shutdown apparently):
https://reportfraud.ftc
https://consumercomplai
State Attorney General (depends on your state)
https://www.bbb.org/us/co/englewo...6-90273048
I'd also think to notify your payment-method provider to block any future withdrawls not authorized by you.
Final option seems to be arbitration, where one can highlight them hiding the "TRUE" cost of the phone that they intended on milking from you (discounted phone price + 3 months service apparently instead of just the single month). Seems like it should be a slam-dunk.
