Good deal, good shoes. I have a pair in white and although I beat up on them mercilessly from the day that I got them, they're still my favorite shoe to wear around town. Would love to pick up another pair, but unfortunately there is no wide option.

I've found hokas (and most shoes nowadays) clean up great in the washing machine. Spray them with shout, take the insoles outs, throw them in the wash cycle. I let them air dry outside.
I have sknme hokas and they certainly have a lot of cushion, but the small amount of rubber covering the bottom foam only partially, in my view, seems to really cut down on durability. Is there a reason why this is preferable or desirable.

In addition weight like someone said, the foam is also softer and bouncier than the rubber outsole so less rubber will help maximize cushioning. In an everyday type walking shoe this probably isn't a worthy tradeoff for durability. You will typically see less rubber on racing type shoes
I have these in gray, they are my go to. Just even cleaned them up with a magic eraser on the bottoms. I've had them since Christmas and have about 1400 miles on them. They've also been great after dislocating my ankle 3 years ago as I still have flare ups.
