It is working for me (limited sizes available now). I don't think this site ships to certain states like California.

I've had 11 pairs of Metcons of various generations and the 9 has been my least favorite. YMMV. The front of the sole around the toe box is chunky, not roomy, but the sole itself is chunky and feels heavy. In general, the shoe seems almost over-engineered as opposed to previous generations. FWIW, the 6 was my favorite.

The 9s are the worst metcon in my opinion. I rarely wear mine because of how stiff and chunky they are. I'd take a pair of OG Reebok Nanos any day.

I think they serve different purposes - agreed that the Metcon 6 are the better all-around training shoes, especially when it comes to the flexibility, but the Metcon 9s are the better ones for true heel/foot stability, especially in squats, deadlifts, etc. Would never run in them - they feel like walking in 2x4s, but for stair climber, etc. they're fine.

Metcon's are specifically created for weightlifting they are not meant for cross-training, CrossFit or running. They're specifically meant for creating stability when you're lifting heavy weights aka heavy and flat soles. Thus the reason why in the previous example somebody said they feel like walking in 2x4s or are heavy which is exactly what you want when you're lifting heavy weights. I have a pair of Metcon 6's myself and they work perfectly for lifting weights.

Everything about this post is incorrect. Metcon is short for metabolic conditioning. That is, CrossFit and cross-training. That's where they came up with the name for the shoe. They are designed to be functional for both lifting and running or other plyometric movements.

That said, the previous posters are correct. The 9 isn't great for running and plyometrics, but the 6 is a great all around cross training shoe.

I've never heard or seen anyone intentionally running in Metcons. Sure you could go for a quick run in them but that's definitely not where they excel. Yeah totally fine for some plyo type stuff burpees, jumping lunges etc.
