Overall, if you specifically want one of the tools and will have utility in the extra batteries (or are starting out and these are your first batteries), then this is a good deal. Most of these tools won't be available for lower prices over the year with the exception of special clearance sales.

Typically $10/Ah is considered a good deal for batteries on a mainstream platform. Therefore, consider the 2Ah/4Ah kit worth around $60 (with free charger). Then, you just need to decide if any of the tools are worth $40 to you. Likewise, for the 2Ah/4Ah/4Ah kit, the batteries are a decent deal at $100 (with free charger) and so you would be paying $100 for the tool. For this one, the deal is a bit more marginal for the tools that are available separately for under $150 (angle grinder, HP circ saw, one-handed recip).

Pairing the 2Ah/4Ah/4Ah kit with a sub $100 tool (i.e., the ones that are also available with the 2Ah/4Ah) kit is definitely not a good deal. In fact you could get two of the 2Ah/4Ah kits plus two tools for the same price and so you would end up with one extra tool, one extra 4Ah battery and one extra charger.

Follow the link above to the battery kit
Select the free tool
Add to cart
Go to cart and select different pick up locations for the kit and tool
Order
View order and cancel what you don't want

If the cancellation doesn't work, wait for the unwanted item to be available for pick up and either:

Call the store to cancel
Wait a couple of weeks until it automatically cancels
Pick it up and return it

In the past I could apply a $10 or $15 off of a $100 HD CC coupon and it lowers the price of both items.. Now when the coupon is applied the batteries and fan change to full price. Delete the code and the price changes to the $99 deal.

That's called theft.
The only thing dishonest here is that HD claims that you get a free tool and then they charge you for it! What you get is a discounted kit and a discounted tool (nothing free). If you want to cancel or return part of it, there is nothing out of HD's policy and certainly nothing illegal.

If you think it is immoral then that's up to you, but remember HD are getting the tools for free from Ryobi and their long-in-the-tooth practice of prorating BOGO deals strongly indicates that it is a profitable model for them.

I don't have the Ryobi one, but have the M18 and the DeWalt one. If you are only interested in inflating tires on cars and/or trucks then the M18 is the best of the bunch. However, the Ryobi (like the DeWalt) has a separate low pressure, high volume blower for inflatables as well as the option of deflating. Also, for lower pressure items like bike tires and balls, the M18 doesn't work very well since you set the desired pressure and it goes way past it because it's basically too powerful. Therefore, if you want to use it with leisure things like pool inflatables, bikes and balls, the Ryobi is going to work out better than the M18.

Note that Milwaukee make two inflators. There's also an M12 one which is slower than the M18 and doesn't have the memory function, but is much more compact.

Maybe it sounds dumb but I'm eying the variable speed caulking gun. I've always hated caulking. The idea of just setting a speed and pulling a trigger and letting it flow at a consistent rate without typical frustration is very appealing

Was considering this deal but then saw this. For a new home owner who doesn't do a lot of DIY is this set ok? I know it's not brushless Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../317987591

New home owner

Just wait. You will be doing a lot of DIY. Way more than you ever thought. As soon as you find out that for someone to come over and install a new toilet paper holder they price gouge you like $300. If you own a new home, invest in a good tool set. It'll make the diy stuff enjoyable and will pay for itself 10-100 times over

In regards to the combo you linked, the flashlight is not really a tool per se, and IMHO, the reciprocating saw, circular saw, and multi tool will be underpowered - at best frustrating, at worst dangerous. The drills are probably fine though

Works great, battery lasts forever on it, takes some experience to know when it's going to explode the tube, in which case it's a pain to clean up especially if you have to take it apart to do so... Overall a good buy just don't force the trigger if it's binding, it is strong enough to make a mess of it. Lastly the variable speed is very nice and helps make accurate flow

Me and my arthritic hands could not agree more with this assessment of the caulk tool

How does using prorating on this compare to the currently $199 6-in-1 (would use everything but flashlight)? None of these are brushless (~30% more power?) but seems a decent deal https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../317987591
