That's a bummer, I live in Durham, NC and the service here has been great with Mint
I was with Cricket for the last 15 years, no service or signal issues then i switched to Lyca Mobile and they are horrible. Terrible customer service and really bad signal because they use Tmobile network. When I'm on the phone with someone else with tmobile network, the other party had to call me back on a land line because we weren't able to understand each other. Never use Lyca mobile. The phone rep cannot do much and they want you to email them and the turn around time is 3 days. And the first reply will ask you to authentic the account when all that info I included in the original email. What a joke customer service.
For Samsung or Moto phone users, I would not recommend Google phones. The Google search column is bottom of front screen, and it does not allow to choose active apps. Also, the Google search column can't arrange or move to different space.

Pixel 8 Pro is supported until 2030. I have plenty of time for the LLM bubble to burst and better options to come along, or societal collapse, whichever comes first.

I ended up going with the Galaxy S25 for a few reasons:
1) While the camera is generally better on the Pixel 9, the S25's camera isn't -that- much worse, and it actually pulls ahead when taking video in many instances
2) In a review video I watched, the S25 was almost twice as fast when they did a processor test by converting, so with the Pixel you are sacrificing a lot by utilizing a cheaper processor
3) The S25 was launched a few months ago in February, while the Pixel 9 launched last year in August
me to debating to use pixel 9 pro XL or s24 ultra.
i liked customization of one UI to some extend although Pixel material excessive update will bring those customization to pixel soon.
then pixel have some of its cool exclusive features.
but the thing that put me in pickle is, s24 series does not have satellite communication and samsung tends to push double things like their own app store, their own multiple apps on top of google's app. samsung also tends to push add in their app store, reinstall games and app after an update. a $500 to $1000 phone is not good enough for them to spam user with ad and apps.
