It's really simple to get a different number, text MINC to 611611 and change it. It's not a TF problem (Verizon goes through a lot of numbers) it can happen with any provider.

Anyone know if the bootloader can be unlocked on this?Motorolas seem to be hit or miss, but the Moto Stylus 5G (2023) I got from Boost last year was bootloader unlockable after the phone was SIM unlocked (180 days back then).Blah blah blah, no one roots phones...except people like me who prefer AdAway to VPN-based solutions (because I have need to use a real VPN on a regular basis) and like unlimited Google Photos without the annoying caveats of non-root solutions.

i got the g 2025 128gb months ago with $25off new member plus $7 free ground ship so with ny tax it came to $83 😀 i was tempted to save the $40 and go with 64gb but i use several chat clients and ip phone apps that refuse to store on my micro-sd card so i didn't want to chance that 64gb over time would be enough if i got too lazy to archive. i love this "swiss army knife" feature model phone, but it does NOT come with a charging block, and i would not recommend this screen near direct sunlight as the contrast or nits are not high enough. the FM chip is disabled by moto so don't count on that working even with wired buds as antenna. the bluetooth is definitely 5.1 or higher, because it's much stronger than my old 2021 year BT 5.0 phone. the reason I upgraded in 2025 is because i needed NFC for google wallet, the 2 speakers helps me listen to audio books and podcasts off the phone alone, and my old phone didn't hotspot either, so who knows when i may need that in a pinch. two android 15 features that leave my old android 12 phone in the dust include; ram cache, so your 4gb phone can feel like it's 8gb. hibernator - this is the ability for apps to automatically "force stop" whatever apps you want, something i kept having to do manually on my old phone. i could go on, suffice it to say it's well worth the trouble to backup to the google cloud and restore to this new phone. oh, and i got another 356,1200 from ebay for $66 so now my paygo is prepaid thru 2027. i know some people rag on tracfone since verizon bought them, but after 4 years with tracfone i can say they are actually better than ever now, it seems verizon is investing in tracfone, they didn't just buy it to kill it as many had feared. i was able to move my old phone number to this new phone, add another year, all using their web portal, i didn't have to call chat or email anyone for anything, did it all myself, just know paygo balance can take 12 hours to update. after 10 years with horrible at&t mvno h2owireless, i am so glad i took a chance on tracfone mvno (t-mobile) now verizon. protips; if you are using a lot of IP voice text video apps on wifi, it may not be good enough to simply turn off your cellular and use wifi alone, you should also put the phone into airplane mode, otherwise "verizon over wifi" may still push your paygo balances lower. also; i just ordered a 30w ac/dc noname that claims to work like moto's own ac/dc for $10 instead of moto's $30, so pm me and i'll let you know what i bought (and what cable i used) after i confirm it actually works as claimed... most ac/dc do not work near 30, even if you over spec to 45 or 67 watts. and; speaking of battery life, the default settings you get on this new phone fully update are terrible, they leave practically everything enabled so your battery dies the second day! if you dig into settings to disable and force close apps you didn't want opened to begin with, you can easy double the battery life between recharges. they also shovel nearly 2gb of games and other junk like facebook you should simply uninstall. i have not dug deeper yet into force closing OS hidden apps because i'm already happy with the battery life between charges i achieved.
This one comes with an AC charging block, packaged separately.

Verizon is asking the FCC to change the current 60-day unlocking policy (which they promised to abide by when they purchased Tracfone) to extend the period you need to wait beyond 60 days to match ATT's, could be a year or more. They are also using legal trickery to try and convince customers that the 1 year is not "service" but promotional credit, adding yet another barrier to the unlocking policy (because activation of this phone will not start the counter towards unlocking). Correct, new language says 60/60 on both activation and paid service.

"For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service"

If Reddit [reddit.com] is to be believed, no. I was hoping to get this phone and tether a little GL.iNet mango router for some low-data remote IoT sensor monitoring over the next year, but that requires some firmware mods that I guess I won't be able to make. Sad!
