It's MagSafe and usb-c. They are just distinguishing it from the MagSafe lightning cases.

I have 2's and no static issues.

pro 2's still experience the static issue that the pro 1's have but there's no recall for the 2's (pro 1 recall for reference https://support.apple.com/airpods...und-issues).. as a pro 1 owner, I'd recommend waiting for the 3's

Costco has them for $180 with 2 years of AppleCare+. Just be warned that there are many reviews stating that online purchases resulted in used or knock-offs in opened boxes. Buy them inside the store to avoid the problem.

After 6 years (apple replaced once after 3 years), the static is just horrendous. Apple SHOULD be sued for this; they know the issue existed yet still sold the defective product.
Going with the Airpods 4 w/ ANC + iPad Air M3 for $528 CA taxed using back to special. (Using 20% gift cards from Citi Cyber Monday deal).
