Quote from sherlock99 :
Shuckable?
FWIW, about four years ago I accidentally shucked a 14TB easystore I bought for $189.99 in early November 2020. About four feet onto thin carpeting over concrete floor/slab. Fortunately it was powered off at the time and survived. Put it into a system and it has been running there since, generally 24/7. CrystalDiskInfo isn't reporting anything.

So yes, it should be shuckable. There are videos out there on how to do it without dropping it, ugh.

(On an unrelated easystore front, it appears the 24TB version has been discontinued. It was on clearance where the clearance price was unremarkable. The 12TB easystore is currently on clearance for $238, also unremarkable and sold out. Fortunately last February I managed to nab a couple of Seagate 24TB externals with the Exos inside for $280 each from BB. I ordered two more but returned them unopened when it appeared from the different box they were now Barracudas.)

I may be wrong but I'm thinking WD no longer offering good deals for over an year.

• For data saving: I would rather choose Seagate(even Barracuda) 2 hards and raid
: or burning CD or DVD rom

• For economic: just going Seagate external HDD
