For my fellow WD heads, the 20TB easystores dropped in price for the black friday in july sale to $279.99. If you're happy with seagates, and don't need easystores this isn't a good deal for you but if you are like me, in need of more space before November heads up that this is an acceptable deal. Apparently I should have bought 6 last nov as I'm in for 2 more. Also of note, if you don't need 20TB, that 14TB is a better value both today and vs the last black friday per TB price (

I use my drives for Plex so even without the lifespan argument I would opt for drives that allow the disabling of the timeout, the speed differences (if they exist) don't factor into my preference. If you're only using the drives for a regular backup routine once every X days instead of hours, then there is (IMHO) no reason to worry about auto spin down. Those of us who "need" the BB specific WD drives are definitely in the minority of users.
