you're not getting a Windows laptop with these specs at this price unless you find a crazy ymmv deal on a refurb or open box. A laptop with a discreet GPU is even less likely, and even if you find that unicorn, it will certainly come with trade-offs like a lackluster screen (this has 100% sRGB).The 'expiration date" is 10 years from release (longer than most people will keep a laptop), and it's fairly easy to replace chrome os with Linux or Windows if you wish.

Newer Chromebook Plus laptops are just as capable as this. This is a 3 year old laptop with a nicer screen and an RGB keyboard. I believe this is the first labeled gaming chromebook. It is really for online gaming.

I bought this last year but returned it because I wanted something lighter. It is a chunky and heavy Chromebook. Don't expect the RGB keyboard to feel as good as a mechanical keyboard.

Nope! Firmware will only work for Chromebooks. If you want Windows then buy a Windows laptop. If you have older laptops or desktops, you can install Chrome OS flex. It's pretty easy to do. Look up Chrome OS Flex

It looks like you can put Windows 11 on this if you're tech savvy enough. https://coolstar.org/chromebook/windows.html --- This is showing one of the verified tested devices.
No idea how well it may run though compared to a similar spec'ed native Windows laptop.

Ok. You guys like chrome book so much than get one for yourself. The hardware spec is there for you to compare. It is not a gaming laptop. You can use it for streaming but it is not a typical definition of gaming and i am pretty sure you know the difference based on your arguments.

I wish there were a memory slot for another memory stick and there were a way to install Linux on it. I like its cpu and esp. screen.
