Was looking into getting this. Not sure how much of an upgrade it is with a TP Link AX3000

I am using an Asus AX6000 bought used on OfferUp for $100 and I am very happy with it. Asus routers are great but whoever designed the antennas for most of their routers is an idiot. The antennas are wobbly and are difficult to keep them straight. I had used the AX11000 too and same problem with the antennas.

Asus routers are pretty solid and you get security features for free that others make you pay a subscription for.

Does anyone know how the Parental Controls are? I have an older Aimesh network setup with 4x RT-AC5300s that have VERY limited Parental Controls; My content filtering is also pretty much all or nothing (I can't segregate/vlan/route SSIDs/networks separately)

Between TP-Link Archer AX-11000 and Asus ROG GT-AX11000, which one is better in Parental Control and long-term support?

I'm going through the same thing right now with the same exact router. Would love to hear about alternatives.

Probably Asus. I have the Archer and there hasn't been an update since late 2023. It was to get mesh support, but never did. I have two Archer and have had good luck using them.

I bought a refurbished version of this about two years ago from this site it was a very great router, solid reception. The antennas were wonky, and they definitely need some kind of support to keep them positioned, but other than that that was my only gripe for a little while. The strength and reception of the Wi-Fi is fantastic. I live in a mountainous region and I have a hard time getting Wi-Fi all over my property and this particular router by itself with no extenders blasted the signal across several acres for me with no issue. Only after about eight months of having this router, it started having an issue where when you rebooted it, it was completely reset and all the configuration was gone. It was broadcasting back as the default router name. I contacted support and I found out that the particular ram inside the router was bad and that it was completely a brick at this point. They had no parts available to fix it. My only way to fix it was to buy some salvage broken one or a spare one that someone had and get the parts myself. This was actually really disappointing because I really like this router but with this model, I would definitely make sure you get some kind of warranty your coverage just in case you run into an issue like this because it will suck pretty bad.
