This deal is for existing customers only.

$700 and $600 discount upfront. You will require 120 days of service at flexible plan which will cost around $25 so total in $100 in service for 4 months.

Phone will be unlock out of the box and you can use physical sim card from other carrier from day one and keep Google Fi on Esim to keep promotion.

Q1: Will i be able to see the $500 price after sign up for free for Google Fi (Will be charged $50 after 7 days, can we change the plan from $50 to $20 per month?)? TIA

You won't be shown the offer until after 21 days. The downgrade to a different plan takes effect at the end of billing cycle so you will have to wait for that. So I'd just sign up with flexible plan but with 21 days wait it will be over preorder period. It's possible they continue to offer the same discount but storage upgrade won't be there for sure.

So I have using s25u as my personal phone and flip 5 as my work phone for this ear. I think with a flip phone for doing specific things like playing music, going through email/notifications cover display is good but you need to flip it open to do everything else. The camera also is a downgrade. For me having a phone similar to slab phone for all purposes which expands into a bigger display makes sense. Fold 7 has now come close to be a slab phone while closed so I am excited to try it out.

As per making the minimal money for upgrade I am still not sure but if you upgrade using FI deals and sell the last phone making yearly upgrade twice once in Feb when slab comes out and other in July when fold comes out might be better because you are selling the phones which are only 6 months old and will have higher resale value (provided you keep aside the money you get from sale for sole purpose of buying the next one)
Just learning that the Flip7 lacks UWB support for things like SmartTags and opening car doors etc.... Bummer

Might be due to Exynos? That also might be a reason not to get the flip this time.

for those that got the flip 7, did you pay outright or financed it? I am not seeing the discount in the financing option, anyone else has this problem? I can see the $499 price if paid in full but regular price in the financing option.

From the FI terms

"An existing Fi customer is someone who currently has Fi service or whose last day of Fi service took place within the last 180 days." So you fall into that category. With these FI deals you can keep upgrading ultra and fold every year with very little money
Hmmm, I just chatted with them to sign up again (Left Fi 25 days ago) to get the Flip 7 and this chat rep said I was not eligible since I had service within the last 180 days. So they are flip flopping on what the terms say above in your post.

I was told in a prior chat I was eligible since I canceled my service only 25 days ago. But this new rep said the other rep was incorrect. Not sure who is correct.

I don't think FI reps know much. That's why I think it's better to pause the service instead of cancelling because of the FI deals. I guess you can signup and check. Someone here mentioned they saw the deal right away, they were with FI previously

I pulled the trigger. Could not resist this time. I am only probably going to use it for 6 mo, then will likely get the S26+ preorder Jan/Feb. I dont have a car yet that uses UWB though was thinking of getting an EV before the tax credit expires. And my Smart Tags hopefully will work with Bluetooth.

Now I just need a recommendation for a case.

Reps are useless. Just unpause your account with a BYOD device , give it a few days for the offer to show up. Take screenshots and go for it.

I know things might be different now but when I pre-ordered my s24+ , my account was paused. Right before Samsung Unpacked in January, I reactivated and old phone. 3 days later I got the deal.

The biggest mistake was when I was brand new customer on the s22 deal and ordered within 24 hours. So if you unpause, wait 2 days before ordering assuming the offer is there. One day is probably enought but I say 2 to be safe. Google Fi's systems need to process your account overnight before becoming fully active.

So I just got off the phone with Fi rep. She said I was not eligible for the Flip 7 deal, even if I sign up again. I actually cancelled my service 25 days ago, I didn't pause it. I'm wondering if that makes a difference.

Tbh, I think I canceled mine too. I would go for it. Just activate on flexible plan.

Looking through my emails, my last statement was in May 2023. (I canceled before that prob April, that was final adjustment, no service)

Then on January 14, 2024 I activated service, have email to confirm date. I then ordered the S24+ same day as Galaxy Unpacked event Jan 17. No issues.

Many of the cars like BMWs will still work with UWB but you might have to hold the phone near the car/handle. They might also enable it in software update later. I am using my flip 5 without case like all my other phones so far.

I think you can take a gamble with the flexible plan. I am pretty sure I saw the offer showed up other people but YMMV.

Thank you both and rep'd. I went ahead and reactivated my service. And even before I was finished setting up and porting over my number, the option was there to purchase the Flip 7 with the $600 instant discount ($499 purchase price). So I'm good to go with Aug 8 delivery. And yes, the CSR reps were not familiar with how things work. I could tell they were just reading off their screen. Thanks for the push!
