Can you trade in a phone that have been paid off? I bought a Pixel 6 for myself, but the phone was locked to ATT because it wasn't paid off. Decided I would trade for the Flip 7 FE

to those complaining about the trade-in being accepted and verified and waiting on the credits to show up on the account, based on the terms and conditions of the promo, it says it can take 2-3 billing cycles till the credits show up. Usually, it doesn't take that long, but i don't think Spectrum is required to do anything on their end if it hasn't been 2-3 billing cycles.

September 8th. However, Spectrum quietly removed the Moto G Play 2024 from the trade-in options, although it was available as a trade-in option at the start of the promotion a month ago. You could buy the StraightTalk Moto G Play 2024 for $30 from Walmart and take advantage of the promotion. You don't need to activate service with StraightTalk to get to the home screen and use the phone normally, like some other prepaid carriers have you do as a requirement to get to the home screen. This matters because Spectrum or Assurant (if you do trade-in at store or mail it in) will do all sort of tests on your phone to make sure things are functioning properly, so you need to get to the home screen. You could always activate the prepaid service for a month, but that's just wasting more money, when you don't need to. Anyways, they probably were receiving a lot of these models as trade-ins and noticed that the trade-in's linked with these phones were "pay-in-full" and would most likely cancel service after 60 days and quietly removed the Moto G Play 2024 as an option. Good news is that the Moto G 5G 2025 is a trade in option and Walmart sells a StraightTalk Moto G 5g 2025 model for $40, so you can use that model as the trade-in device.

Phone need 60 days to unlock anyway. Just wait it out. I don't think it will actually take 60 days to refund the credit.

I am confused about the additional Spectrum mobile line aspect. I am currently a Spectrum Internet user in NY and also currently a T-Mobile customer and have a really good grandfathered plan that I want to retain. if I want to to this deal, I was planning on trading in a crappy moto G phone and pay for the balance of the entire fold 7 upfront. Once I get the Fold 7, will I have a new spectrum cell phone plan and phone number that I have to now pay separately for? when and how would I have to cancel that? I simply want the device and want to plug in my TMO sim.
