I am confused about the additional Spectrum mobile line aspect. I am currently a Spectrum Internet user in NY and also currently a T-Mobile customer and have a really good grandfathered plan that I want to retain. if I want to to this deal, I was planning on trading in a crappy moto G phone and pay for the balance of the entire fold 7 upfront. Once I get the Fold 7, will I have a new spectrum cell phone plan and phone number that I have to now pay separately for? when and how would I have to cancel that? I simply want the device and want to plug in my TMO sim.
In your case this is what I recommended. If you have internet with Spectrum, you qualify for Spectrum Mobile service. Sounds like to me that you don't already have a cell phone line with Spectrum, so you should qualify for a free cell phone line for an entire year with Spectrum. So, go to Walmart (or buy it on their website), buy a StraighTalk Moto G 5g 2025 for around $40. Open the device and go through the start up process and get to the Home Screen. Don't activate the StraightTalk pre-paid service, you can toss the SIM card it comes with. Charge up the phone. Go to your nearest Spectrum store, say you want to add a mobile line to your account and take advantage of the Fold 7 promotion. You should have a free mobile line offer available for your account, so you won't be paying anything for monthly service. You may have to pay an activation fee, but I think it's waived for this promo. You'll trade in the Moto g 5g phone you bought, they'll do some tests to confirm the condition and then approve the trade-in. You'll get $1000 off the fold 7, so if you do "pay-in-full", you'll still have to pay hefty amount as the fold 7 is $2000 + taxes. Once you buy the phone and confirm your trade in, make sure to activate the Spectrum mobile line on the fold 7. you have to keep the Spectrum line active on your account for 60 days before you can unlock the Fold 7 and use your tmobile SIM card on it. After 60 days from your purchase, call Spectrum customer service and ask them to unlock your device. After it's unlocked (you can check in the phone setting), you're good to go. You can choose to keep that Spectrum mobile line or disconnect it, up to you.

Anyone else get their missing $1000 promo trade-in credit fixed? I'm in the same boat. I traded in a Pixel 6a, got the inspection email saying it's worth $35, but there's no mention of the $1000 promo credit.

Be careful with this deal. I preordered the z fold and paid the full price and did the trade in promo. I sent the phone and received the 1,000 credit on my account and got it back to my debit card. I then got them to unlock my device early. I used my att sim in the phone and decided to cancel the line. I look at my bill and there is a charge 1,000 trade in reversal. They said you cancelled so you loose the trade in promo. Anyone else experience this with spectrum and if so any tips?

They might think you are trying to game the system. You got the credit within 1-2 billing cycle, had them unlock the phone within 60 days and cancelled the line within 60 days.

So you asked for unlock early then tell them to cancel the line?

Yes I got them to unlock the phone than waited a week to cancel. They told me I must keep the line open for one year or else they charge back the trade in promo.

My trade-in was approved on July 25th and I'm still waiting. For reference, past trade-in credits hit my account within a couple days. It is reassuring that so many credits are still outstanding. They'll eventually fix the issue and we'll all probably see it in our accounts at around the same time.

They said they will reverse it if I reconnect so I will do that and port out. They did mention port out or cancel will cause the trade credit to be charged back but its worth a shot.

I have never seen this charge reversal before. Where in their terms does it say you must keep the line for a year to keep the trade in promo?

I have no clue where it is, I also don't see where it says if you pay in full and cancel that they charge for the trade in promo credit.
