These open with gentle force. Any pet (even uninvited ones) can easily open this. We've had another brand for about 2 years. Keeps bugs out but the dogs go in and out without a problem. Costco has retractable screen doors that are easy to install that will keep the cats in.

I have a 32" door and bought one of these a while back. Haven't gotten around to figuring out how to make it work, I suppose I'll just tuck the flaps back and nail it in.
