I bought one on a previous deal, and the performance is decent enough. The screen is the real showstopper here. If you need a mixed use casual browsing / light web-based application laptop that you may use for media consumption you literally cannot find a screen this good for less than $1K.

Does anyone have experience running remote desktop software like Parsec or Moonlight on these Snapdragon machines? Ideally I could run many emulated/incompatible softwares on a remote desktop

Lenovo's upgrade policies are the worst, whether it's for PCs/Laptops or Tablets/Phones.

Slickdeals effect, ugh, hope I get a good one, since the only one near me was in fair condition. Guess OLED burn in is probably what I'll look for first, if that's still a concern with that tech.

I am like 0 for 4 with BB open box, even excellent.Bad pixel, some kind of fan issue, etc. I think people returning are mostly because they had an issue.
I'm actually shocked to hear this - I've probably bought 20+ Excellent products and all looked like new open box returns, and a couple of "Fair" items were mint laptops just without the box (though those are DEFINITELY lucky). Def YMMV for sure.

Because I like to draw, I like to put it on my spin bike, I use it as a black background e-reader in low light.

Got one for pickup in "Good" condition. It literally had no box. Just the laptop and charger in a ziploc bag taped to the laptop. Laptop seems pristine, screen is beautiful.

I ordered the yoga slim 7i open box fair for $420 on a steal of a deal. Only issues was the laptop was literally bent upwards with a big crease in the middle. Like the whole thing rocked on the table. The employee wouldn't even let me take it and said I needed to cancel my order so they could send it out to get fixed. I wouldn't have been mad except for the fact there was a second open box fair unit at the store that was in really good condition. They wouldn't let me get the second unit without cancelling my order and re-buying it again which would have been fine but the price had increased $200 dollars and they said there was no way for them just to change out the laptops. Even the manager couldn't do anything. I was pretty mad and ended up getting the hp omnibook 5 which is a much worse laptop but I got it at a price I couldn't pass up since I am just getting it as a casual laptop to sit at home for the family.

How are the "fair" used versions from Best Buy usually? Just curious if it's worth the extra $50 to go for the "excellent".
your best bet is going to the store if possible to see the laptops in person. The conditions range wildly. Sometimes fair can be better than an excellent.
