I got this from an earlier deal (maybe the same?) and it was delivered today. Overall, I'm very satisfied with it. I mean, It's $100. I'm not expecting much, but it easily delivered more. I'm using it in my kitchen to watch YT while I cook, so I wouldn't want anything larger or fancier, or more expensive, because I'm sure I'll get some grease or something on the screen eventually. It's replacing a 720p 32" (36"? Who cares) that I'm seriously considering just tossing in the trash. I bought it 2-3 years ago and paid, I think, $150. So yeah, it's crazy how these things get cheaper and cheaper...

Got it today, can't ask for more for $100. Interface is fast and footprint is smaller so perfect for my needs. Remote replacement is only 7.99 on Amazon so not sure about the other guy losing the remote and worrying. Power cord being hard wired may be annoying but for $100 it will last years and be outdated anyway.

It's back to $110 at Amazon, if you're still looking.

how do people lose remotes? where are you going with them? is it kids or something? I've never lost a remote
Kids.
My brother and his kids come over, and suddenly all my stuff starts disappearing.
Most of the time, it's not even the kids taking it. It's my brother and his wife pre-emptively moving stuff out of the kids grasps and forgetting where they put it. Was missing a TV remote for 2 days before we finally found it on top of our fridge because my sister-in-law wanted to put it out of reach of my nephew.

I paid $4000 for a 40" Sony XBR2 in 2005. Still using it daily as a monitor 20 years later to type this reply. $200 per year, not bad for this level of quality. Pay once, cry once.
my dad gave me his 2010 era samsung 50" which was first gen LED backlit. Like $3k new. Got rid of it last year to get a mini LED, and the new stuff was better , 65" and $600. the old tv was probably worse than a $200 tv now and yeah were getting so much for basicall nothing now

Wait until you get old. Mr Magoo was pretty much real life for some of us.

One of the hidden costs/traps in these low-cost Fire TVs is the voice remote. If you ever lose the remote and factory reset the TV, you could find yourself with a TV awaiting the RF pairing of the voice remote. It is potentially impossible to bypass this screen with an IR-only remote, though I've read of success with the FireTV app. Replacement remotes are available, including first-party options from Best Buy/Insignia and Amazon, but the $20-30 price is a significant percentage of the highly discounted retail prices at which these devices are listed.Definitely do whatever you can to keep the included remote paired closely with the TV.Good luck!Jon
I just use the FireTV app.

They actually don't last more than 6 years these days. Especially the built in software stops get updated just like our phones and start to run slow and buggy. Especially these junk brands. Plus 1080p 🤮
You don't have to update or connect it to the internet if you're concerned about that. You can use a standalone streaming device for media and never actually put the TV itself online.

software? just connect HDMI to it, or use any smart TV stick 6 yrs from now. IF the TV itself ast that long.

Just got the 32" one in today. I have the $10 gift certificate in email. For $80 + tax, this is a great TV for my office.
