There's no official designation, but protein isolate generally means 90% protein by mass or more. This "isolate" is only 80% which, while high for protein powder, doesn't meet the colloquial standard of 90%.

2.2lb for $40 + shipping ($48 total) is not a deal. Costco has their 5.4lb bag of powder for $50 with 71% protein which should be a baseline to compare protein powder deals against.

This "deal" is $0.0601/g of protein.

Kirkland's is $0.0309/g of protein, half the price.

The Amazon S&S deals from a few days ago for 1.8lb tubs of protein powder were even cheaper. at $0.02/g.

No, I am referring to the Kirkland brand of protein powder. Neither that nor the Myprotein here is actual isolate if we want to to use the term as it defined by the vast majority of sources on the topic.
what is this definition?

I bought the 11lb whey isolate unflavored - bought one got one. Came out to $313 with a 5 percent first order discount. I should also expect an 8 percent cash back from a top place.
All in all just under $15 per lb for whey isolate unflavored. Which seems ok. Thoughts?

Sorry, could you clarify what you meant by "standalone drink mix"?
Think of it like koolaid packets. You just add it to water shake/stir to mix it together. No clumping.

Used to love MP but the prices for basic Whey just got out of control

Do they ever do the good deals for 5.5 and 11 pound bags of whey?

yes they've done a couple really good deals that i know of. search "myprotein 11" and you'll find some good past deals. still working through mine from last year. really can't abide by these prices when there are other great deals.

For protein i usually buy whey, isolate when it's a good price but i don't do keto or anything so isolate not important to me. I like to stay under $5 per pound (if the macros are bad i skip it). I used to buy MyProtein exclusively but their prices are way higher than average now and less grams of protein / serving (for their wheys at least). They try to make it look like more than is there saying 100 servings but at 20 grams protein... instead of just doing the normal 75 servings at ~25 grams protein. Scummy imo trying to trick people...

I don't think you understand what Clear Whey is. This is absolutely a deal for those who buy Clear Whey compared to traditional whey, hydrolyzed or isolate. The other commenter is right. You're comparing Apples to Chocolate. Yes, people on slickdeals are looking for the best price to protein ratio, but within categories, not in general. This is a good price for the Clear Whey category. If you only concern yourself with price to protein ratio then you should never buy anything besides Costco whey on sale. You're also calculating the price per gram of protein for MyProtein with shipping costs. That makes no sense as you can get free shipping over $80 (4 tubs). At $0.05/g of protein, it's really not that bad at all, especially for those who cannot tolerate the traditional milky whey.

Never buy anything from this company. They are spammers. Put a fake ad to lure customers, sign them up, get their information, and then cancel order for no reason. They will then spam you with all the marketing

These tubs seem like leftover from Costco promotion last year.

When I ordered these couple of months back, they had Costco written on the tub and had 4 month expiry.

It doesn't mix at all, even with an electric whisk. The only powder I've had to dump. Taste is fine, but you can't drink powder...

Was going to jump all over this but the BOGO lowers it to $79.98 and then they want to charge you $8 for shipping and since nothing costs .2 cents you won't get free shipping. The shipping and tax brought my total to around $95. No thanks! THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

Wild, what used to hit Frontpage for MyProtein was 11 lbs for around $50. Now that $50 gets you... 2.5 lbs?

You can add a sample packet for $3.99 and that will tip you over the $80 threshold.
