Deal History includes data from multiple reputable stores, such as Best Buy, Target, and Walmart. The lowest price among stores for a given day is selected as the "Sale Price".
Sale Price does not include sale prices at Amazon unless a deal was posted by a community member.
I wonder if this would work with a prorated return of just the battery? That could get you the tool for $100 without the batteries.
No it won't. The tool shows up as free. It needs to have a price to be able to return one or the other. It was working like that for a while in the app but isn't working with this.

Without being able to confirm in store RIGHT NOW (I don't need any of these tools currently but have hacked many times from Lowe's in past), I would lean towards yes... Deals like this have been hackable IN STORE ONLY for quite a while, then they started showing the same in the app more recently.
If not too far out of the way go to the store and ring it up at the register, if they show SEPARATE prices for each item that indicates you can return individual items. If it were to show up as $199 batteries and a free tool (same as it does online), it's NOT hackable and you could just tell them you changed your mind.
FYI as well, looks like the ACME deal is very similar BOGO tools and $40 cheaper if you want both tool & batteries.
