Even setting aside all of the political baggage, one of the worst things about purchasing a Tesla (and maybe this is just a fault of all EVs)? Is that the cost to insure them is crazy.

I own two Tesla's. Wife wants a highlander and the quote i got was about $10 more a month. I can't speak for everyone but the insurance on a model y or 3 for me is roughly the same price. But obviously it's completely different for each person. Would definitely recommend to always get an insurance quote before you buy any vehicle regardless of tesla.

I mean, my Tesla is as fast as a Lamborghini and costs like $40 a month more to insure than my 4Runner.

Why the Lyft credit? Is it so you can use Lyft as a passenger? $1000 Doesn't seem useful for someone buying a brand new car

My 2024 Model Y + Cybertruck is ~$300/month to insure in California complete coverage. Insurance is definitely one of those YMMV, but I found HUGE variance in insurance costs between companies. Even Tesla insurance is costing me more than GEICO now.

Any new car is expensive to insure, but it seems some cost is coming down after the craziness that was COVID.

screw Tesla.. Worst company I every dealt with! Can't reach anyone on the phone (pre-sales), delayed delivery times and responses, absolutely garbage app and website UI/UX and an overall crappy pre-sales experience ( ordered Model X - Plaid ) shake head

A $250 lesson learned to NOT give them ANY business!

Imagine how bad the experience will be as we get closer to 30 Sep.

Insurance is high no matter the vehicle. You can thank deregulation (on multiple fronts) for that.

Thanks for posting OP. Even though I bought a Y last month, buddies of mine are now scrambling to buy because of the EV rebate ending. Tesla delivery/showrooms are packed!

I was nervous trying FSD at first, so I set it at Chill mode which did some questionable lane changes to stay in the right hand lane. When I changed to Standard mode, wow! So much better! It drives perfect except it would be 1 or 2 lanes away from the far right lane until the freeway exit is < 1 mile away with heavy traffic, but it will always get to the exit. I am very comfortable letting FSD do all my driving now.

If all cars have FSD and remove the unknown human factor, driving would be so much safer.

There are really some FANTASTIC DEALS to be had here

Yes siree there sure are some fantastic deals, but better ones are soon to come.

Tesla is facing a lot of headwinds in the near future. Gas is getting cheaper and electric is getting more expensive.

But worst of all is they are losing regulatory credits that other manufacturers have to buy and that means they have to sell cars to make money.

Better deals are coming soon.

It's a $1000 credit after giving a 100 Lyft rides. If you are interested, when you complete the rides, just send me $1000.
