Wow - while the $250 Seagate 26TB external may not be the best, depending on which drive model you get in the enclosure, this drive at 14TB is a terrible price today. Inflation or not, WD 14TB externals were this price at Bestbuy five years back.

Seagate drives have a bad rep. I have had two fail on me in the past 1 yr. I have 8 WD drives in my NAS with no problems!!

I'm with you there, but the difference on drives from the last 5 years isn't so drastic like it used to be. Even if Seagate became more reliable than WD for years, it would still take me some time to adjust to wanting to buy them again. I still have a bad opinion of them ever since my three 1.5TB 7200.11 drives failed within weeks apart - Seagate drives were excellent prior to that. Same as it was with WD drives back in my 2TB-4TB days - they weren't great, whether a WD Green that liked to fail, or Reds that were their better stuff, but still had higher failures within the first couple years. Samsung and HGST had good products in the 2-4TB era.

With that said though, 14TB at this price is insane today - so expensive. I'd personally still rather have the 26TB Seagate for 25% more, for nearly twice the capacity.. Even better if one got an Exos drive in the Seagate, but I'm sure most people would receive Barracudas instead.
