$50/mo is their lowest plan at totalwireless. And you would need 2 months.

You're posting incorrect information - please read the current unlock policy which changed in April and edit your posts so new users don't get the wrong info.

This changed in April. Now you need to have purchased 60 days or more of service. 30 won't cut it anymore. Also I don't believe there's a $10 option anymore for activating a new device. Their plans start at 15 for the first month then 10 afterwards for autopay.

The rewards points require 61 days to vest. If you activate the phone with a $25 60-day plan, the pending points will disappear when the line becomes inactive on day 61. Activate the phone with $20 90-day plan, then use rewards points on phone discount code or service extensions (currently you get 200 for joining the program plus 5K with a referral. You'll also get 500 points after 3 months).
So you need a new phone+referral?

Any idea how long is the promo?
don't know. They had the promo for a long time (I think September 2024 to May 2025) then removed it for 2 months (June-July 2025). It just started again on 8/1/25.

I think so, or maybe an IMEI that has not earned referral bonus previously. You also need to enter a referral code within 14 days of line activation/account creation.

I did the 90 day 60 min plan on 2 different phones for seperate accounts. ( Me and wife).and used my sis in law referral code but only got 200 points. I then activated the 2 nd phone with same plan and used my brothers referral code but still only got 200 points after joining rewards.. im guessing the cheap 90 day plan prevents u from getting full rewards?

The 90-day plan definitely works for rewards points, but it seems Tracfone has not fixed the system issue. See reports from 8/4/25 Reddit [reddit.com] and HF [howardforums.com]. This has happened a few times before (either referrer or referee, or both not getting the points). Sometimes it took several days or weeks to show up (automatically) and other times people needed to contact support to get the points (with the right CS, who would probably send codes to both phones to verify). The last time it happened was in March this year. I had 2 referrals, early and late March. The referee got the points but I didn't. I hate talking to TF support on this so I didn't contact them to get the points. Surprisingly, the points showed up on 6/26/25 and were available to use (out of pending period).

is it common for android to update their devices with updates 1 by 1?

I saw reports of the rewards system not working on 8/4/25, but didn't know if TF fixed it. I asked the question on HF [howardforums.com] and it looks like TF fixed the problem as people got the points on 8/7/25.

Okay someone please tell me if this will work?
1. Buy this deal via BB with TW
2. Get phone/sim rebranded to TF by calling customer support
3. Buy the 90 day service from target for $20
4. Phone should be unlocked after 60/61 days of TF service?

Total cost - $50
if gonna pay for service just get 2025 model free from straight talk with $50 Gold Plan (Autopay then disable) change to $35 bronze before 2nd month to unlock it.

I still don't get what's the rebranding many people are talking about. I just purchased this phone, inserted my Visible sim card and I'm good to go. I believe any Verizon MVNO will work with the phone.

You don't need to know because you're not using it on TracFone.
