Just remember that the Pixel 10 is launching in a couple weeks. Decent chance Best Buy has the trade in an iPhone 13 or whatever and get one free like they have the last couple years. I would definitely wait unless you need a phone immediately.

It depends a lot on what is important to you. If my Motorola Edge Plus 2022 died today I'd get a Motorola G Stylus 5G 2024 from Amazon for $250. Motorola tends to have pretty good phones at pretty low prices. I'm sure the camera isn't as good and it doesn't get as fast or as many android updates as a pixel, but those things aren't all that critical for me. Since the 2025 has been out for a while, I'd expect the price to drop lower in the next few months until they run out of stock.

FYI you can probably get Google to replace that battery for free. I took my Pixel 7 in to get a new battery for the same reason a few months ago. It was far outside of warranty so I paid out of pocket. However after I got home I saw online that Google was replacing bulging batteries in devices outside of their warranty since it is a safety hazard. So I complained in a chat. First chat guy denied me. I complained again and eventually Google refunded me for the repair.

In fairness to the 5300, it definitely got better over time but it took many updates. Less of a worry today than when it debuted in the 7, but still well ahead of the modem they used in the 6 series.

I will say the 9 series modem cleared it from day 1.

There is a battery issue with 6a. You can check to see if your 6a is affected. They are offering 150 towards a trade-in in a new phone or 100 cash or a free battery replacement. From my experience codes don't work on sale prices of phones tho, but for all I know they made an exception for this 150$ code they are giving out. I didn't take a chance and opted for the 100$ cash
