why do you price it at $600? if we're going to make up prices, why not call it a $300 phone!

Quite a lot of bickering here from people that aren't interested in a foldable but are still interested in the price for some reason. It's only in tech where I see people complain passionately about something they will never purchase.

Anyway, as someone that likes foldables and understands what being an early adopter entail$, I can say the pixel 9 pro fold is a very good foldable compared to the US competition....but thats because there are only like 3 tablet foldables to compare to.

If you are planning to buy one now, know that this offer is most likely to clear stock. I'm also assuming you have a high budget. So I'd probably recommend checking out the fold 7 (which is more foldable feature rich than the pixel) or waiting for the 10 pro fold if you are sold on pixel. The 9 isn't a great buy right now, and I think there's little merit in being a late-early adopter to this tech. If you're interested in a foldable, get the latest one. If you're interested in saving money....you shouldn't be getting a foldable to begin with. Otherwise you'll end up like people in this thread...

another phone analyst. i'd like to see your breakdown of the $500 value of a less than 1 year old foldable phone. you must have comparable phones that are also at the $500 range?

Fold 10 will be out this month. I'll wait to see if it's worth the cost vs this price on a 9

Decent phone but not worth over $500. Too thick and heavy.

You can get it for $1099 via best buy by opening (and subsequently cancelling) a new Verizon line.

Great phone, but I don't think any phone is worth $1K. Deals for the Pixel 9 have been as low as $249, so this absolutely does not have $750 in additional value with 2 more screens. Google doesn't have a SoC that's competitive to Qualcomm or Apple, so why are they charging a premium? It would be okay if they were to bundle Google One and AI for the life of the device to justify the cost. Given the history of battery issues with Pixels, I don't see why anyone would value this phone so high. On top of that Google hasn't done nearly as much work as Samsung to utilize multi-window support on the larger screen.

pixel 9 to pixel 9 fold would be hard to measure, people are not cross shopping those 2 phones

Tbh that's a lot of money for a phone with a crappy chip. If you are/were a student, you can get the OnePlus Open for $100 more, for a significantly better phone. OnePlus offers a pretty generous student discount, 20% for the Open, before any other discounts. If I was to have a mini tablet like this, I'd rather have it perform well.

Hey buddy, don't buy the device. Besides being a consumer, possibly a cheap one, what expertise do you have? Please share the pixel 9 for 250

Pixel 9 cost $120 for me after all bonuses on launch day. Use the search feature. https://slickdeals.net/f/17698470-pixel-9-series-for-free-with-trade-in-best-buy-in-store-only

Android phones are priced so high at retail lately and then their value tanks like no other phone on the market. Decent price for somebody that wants a fold I suppose. I'd just get a tablet that has cellular at that point though, the device will last longer.
