another data point for you guys. I got this phone today and put in my T-Mobile postpaid simple choice sim in right away, before even powering it on. doesn't work. says SIM not provisioned and can't get any bars. Activated this and dumped the metro sim in the trash and put a reminder next year today to unlock it. meanwhile this works as a great home media device especially with a 1 TB micro SD. Sideloaded Kiwix and threw in the new 110 GB Wikipedia offline dump.

Thanks for many helpful posts regarding T-Mobile postpaid SIMs. It looks like T-Mobile is moving to restricting SIMs server-based rather than device-based.

Both my Metro S25 and S24FE accepted an inactive T-Mobile postpaid SIM (no network-locked message with full bars) and rejected a TextNow SIM (network-locked message appeared). However, based on these discussions, those may not work on T-Mobile even with the SIM acceptance. I don't have an active T-Mobile postpaid SIM to play around with, so I can't confirm one way or another.

Anybody tried connecting a slim magsafe charger to the Motorola G stylus 2025? I know that the Motorola G Stylus 2025 battery life isn't its strength compared to my past Motorola Stylus. It could be nice to have 5000 mAh for a popon charge. I would have to take off my case though and either get a magnet ring or get magnet ring case.
Don't have interest in magsafe stands or holders but a little bit in magsafe wallet and magsafe slim charger.
I have a Lisen Magsafe car charger that I was hoping to use with this Moto G stylus 2025. I tried the charger directly on the phone and it will stick to it but the magnets are very weak. I ordered two different cheap magnetic ring phone cases on Amazon and both of them worked alright with that Lisen magsafe car charger but then I couldn't get them to work with any of my other wireless chargers. I assume the ring interferes with them. The phone without the magnetic ring works fine on all those other chargers. That really disappointed me I was really hoping I could get magsafe to work with this thing but it doesn't seem like it's going to. I may still try two or three of the other magnetic ring cases I saw on Amazon but I doubt it's going to be a different outcome.

Thanks. I guess I am passing on magsafe. I am pretty thrifty and good with battery management but I think the Moto G Stylus 2025 won't be on par with my past Motorola G Stylus phones in terms of their battery life. I got two portable charger banks (Anker and Baseus) that I barely use so I will use that.

I just started using the phone yesterday and I have been quite impressed with the display quality, user interface and performance so far. Need more time to judge the battery life which I heard isn't it's PRO. I haven't touched the camera but I know that I will be happy with it. I liked the camera on my Motorola G Stylus 2020 and 2022.
  • Comfort and portability? Even though it is pretty similar screen size to the Motorola G Stylus 2022, I find the Motorola G Stylus 2025 more comfortable to hold and definitely carry around. Being like an extra ounce lighter and being little bit smaller makes a difference in comfort and portability.
  • Speaker? I have a Pixel 9a and Samsung Galaxy A54 and its speaker isn't on par with those. It isn't bad as it can get loud but the sound quality and bass isn't on par. The Motorola G Stylus 2020 speaker BEATS out both the Motorola G Stylus 2022 and 2025 speakers. The Stylus 2020 speaker was pretty solid with loud and bass. They should have used that. The Stylus 2025 speakers is similar to Motorola G Stylus 2022 speakers. I wouldn't call it bad but it isn't it's strength if you compare it to its "similar price competitors".
  • Fingerprint sensor? Great! I was concerned about switching from Motorola awesome physical fingerprint but it's onscreen fingerprint sensor has been great. I even have tempered glass and worn out dried thumb and it is recognizing it.
  • Android 13 vs Android 15 on Motorola Stylus? I have a Motorola G Stylus 2022 with Android 13 and a Motorola G Stylus 2025 with Android 15. Put them literally side by side. This is two system upgrade jump. It still pretty much feels nearly identical user interface and features. I think some people go to crazy about needing the latest system updates. "I feel like I am taking crazy pills. It's the same thing! What's wrong with you people?".... With Motorola getting like 2 system updates and 3 years of security updates, I am fine with that. Sure it isn't on Google and Samsung level but I use some phones as mini tablets that stopped getting security updates. Phones apps still get security updated and I also use Avast free antivirus app. A phone that stopped getting security updates isn't a brick to me.

Yea. It is working on fine. Make sure your data is on and your hotspot toggle is on as well. Make sure you created a hotspot password and you enter it on the other phone.
The weird thing is that it is using the same exact password and title that I used when I made the Metro hotspot password with my old Motorola G Stylus 2022. I copied everything over from Motorola G Stylus 2022:to Motorola G Stylus 2025. All the wifi connections transferred over to the Stylus 2025.
My Metro hotspot title for my Motorola G Stylus 2025 is saying "Motorola G Stylus (2022)" so right now I am gonna try to find a way to change that hotspot name. * I just changed the hotspot name to "Motorola G Stylus (2025)".

You can either disable autopay, call to cancel or port out to cancel. There may be users here in the other similar threads that require a port-in to take advantage of another carrier deal both of you can benefit from it.

Mine did the same thing when I copied from my samsung.

I called a few days ago and support is horrible. Long hold and the agent was clueless other that reading from what is probably a scriped. Said someone would call me back and nobdy has.

I found out through searching that the APN is wrong. Switched it and now it works. Glad Im not renewing this service as CS is not good. Coverage is better that Verizon though at lest in my area.

auto pay is opt in. when you buy a new metro phone with first month service, they don't automatically throw auto pay on and get their grubby hands on your credit card number and won't let go. I bought this phone, activated it and just gonna leave it in a drawer for a year. even threw out the metro sim. didn't care for the first month of service

Anybody using Motorola Smart Connect with the Motorola G Stylus 2025?
  • I have used it with my Amazon Firestick and Google Chromecast. With the Amazon Firestick, I can get it working nicely with the desktop interface. With Chromecast, it is just mirror display similar to what I get with the Pixel 9a. I can't get that Motorola desktop interface.
  • Smart Connect with the television has the TV apps but I find it weird and unnecessary as the firestick already has the video app on the device.
  • I tried to use the streaming device with my phone's Hotspot data and use Motorola Smart Connect but I couldn't get it to work. Pretty much dependant on WiFi connection for Motorola Smart Connect. No wired Ready For connection.
  • I haven't tried Smart Connect with PC desktop or tablet. I also haven't tried Smart Connect with a gaming controller on a television.

Leaving lithium battery uncharged for a year in a drawer will definitely damage the battery.
"Yes, a lithium battery left uncharged for a year is bad, as it likely resulted in a deep discharge, which causes irreversible chemical damage, leading to reduced capacity and potential complete failure. Calendar aging is a natural process where batteries degrade over time, and leaving them unused in a discharged state significantly accelerates this damage, making them less efficient or even unusable. Why it's bad?

  • Deep discharge:
A completely discharged lithium-ion battery can reach a "point of no return", where the internal chemistry is permanently altered and the battery can no longer safely hold a charge.
  • Calendar aging:
Batteries degrade over time, even when not in use, a process called calendar aging. Leaving a battery in a low-charge state for an extended period exacerbates this aging.
  • Irreversible damage:
The chemical reactions that occur during a deep discharge are not easily reversible and can lead to a significant loss of "recoverable capacity"."
