We have this vacuum and it's actually really great. It has strong suction and is easy to carry around. I bought it when it was $75 to get the extra battery, and just took a chance on the vacuum. We've been very happy with it.
where to get extra battery from?
This is a pretty common strategy for tool & battery systems (DeWalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi, etc.)
It's surprisingly good as a regular floor vacuum but you're probably going to have a regular plug-in vac for a whole house. If you didn't want a full size plug-in vac for smaller homes or an apartment, this would probably be good. Maybe if you have a small upstairs and don't want to lug the full-size up there?
It does what it does well, it's just limited in what it can do. You probably need something versatile alongside it. In that case you might be better suited just getting one vac that can do it all.
