Same. Had a '74 Custom. Instead of selling it, I should've had it refretted and changed whatever aftermarket high output pickups a previous owner installed to something more PAF.
Spoiler alert: They aren't. Years of upping the price by 30% without giving us anything new has made these things ludicrously overpriced such that when one goes on sale it is a OMG moment for some of you.
That they are doing the same thing to their Chinese Epiphones and getting away with it says a lot about Gibson and Epiphone fans and what easy marks they are. I mean the fact that some Epiphones are now $1500 actually makes some of you believe that this Gibson must be a bargain at only $500 more! 🤣
Never liked LP's except when Jimmy Page played.

Here's the hard data and cold facts: What's it say on the end of the neck? What's it say in the wiring harness .. how about the back of the pickups?
I just sold my 1984 Gibson Flying V Custom Designer Series for THIRTY-SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS at auction. Didn't mean it that way. Enjoyed it for nearly 40 years.
It's just at the end of the day, the Lester and Epiphone and Edwards and B.C Rich and PRS and LTD and all of the above (minus Fender) .. 15 years from now you got a guitar worth $150.00 at a garage sale. But, the upside is: if you have a family emergency and need quick cash, the pawn shop will give you $75.00 immediately.
Those are just stone cold dead dog data stats and facts.
Core-Base-Root Truth
.. but please .. continue to shout at the rain. I find it amusing myself ..
